This son of Street Cry came from ten lengths back in his last to score at 15 to 1 for jockey John Velasquez and trainer Todd Pletcher. That was Street’s first race off of a layoff. If anything, he should be tighter for this. Velazquez stays which is a huge plus and the post shouldn’t hurt him too much. He’s the upset special at good online odds again.
Celestial Comet – – 6/1 online betting odds
He’s breaking from the 11 hole which could compromise his chances but jockey Kent Desormeaux is as good as they get and trainer Bill Mott knows how to get horses ready for the lawn. I like how he finished second to Nistles’ Crunch in his last and even though that was in April, I have all the confidence in the world that Mott will have this guy ready to fire his best shot. He could surprise.
Spanish Harlem – – 15/1 online betting odds
Trainer Chad Brown hits with 25% of his turf starters and even though this guy lost by 7 lengths in his last, on the lawn at Calder, he did have to check. There’s no telling where he would have finished in that race if he had gotten a clean trip. Jockey Jose Lezcano is underrated and he breaks from the 4 hole which means Lezcano can put him anywhere he wants him to be. His chances are good at huge online betting odds.
Wagering Strategy
I’m making an online bet on Blues Street to win and place. I have to play an exacta and trifecta box with Celestial Comet, Blues Street and Spanish Harlem because the online odds should provide a huge pay-out should it hit.
