Week 16 NFL Totals Betting Analysis

NFL Week 16 Totals Analysis

For the second week in a row the total bet was split right down the middle. Eight games stayed under the total and eight games went over. There were a few teams that basically took their game over on their own. San Diego put up 42 points on Tennessee, Carolina scored 41 against the N.Y. Giants, and Green Bay racked up 48 points against Seattle.

On the low end, Dallas shutout the Redskins, Atlanta held Buffalo to three points, Detroit was held to six points by San Francisco, and Jacksonville could only manage seven against New England.

Here is a brief recap of all the games.

Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots (-7.5)

New England QB Tom Brady left very little doubt that he is primed for the postseason, completing 23 of 26 attempts for 267 yards and 4 TD’s as the Patriots clinch the AFC East.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints (-14.5)

Denver Broncos at Philadelphia Eagles (-7)

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)

Baltimore continually shot themselves in the foot with stupid penalties that allowed the Steelers to steal a win and keep their playoff hopes alive.

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (-5.5)
Over/Under 40.5 Result || 44 OVER

The Colt’s decided to pull their starters out of the game in the second half, thus pulling the plug on a perfect season as the Jets capitalized on some key mistakes by the backups.

Dallas Cowboys (-7) at Washington Redskins
Over/Under 43 Result || 17 UNDER

After a tumultuous season filled with numerous injuries, coaching indecisions and heart breaking losses there was nothing left in the tank for Washington to put up a decent fight against their division rival.

Monday, Dec. 28

Minnesota Vikings (-7) at Chicago Bears
Over/Under 41 Result || 66 OVER

Minnesota dropped its third straight road game in a shootout against the Bears that for the time being knocks them out of the #2 seed in the NFC playoffs.

The two top teams in the NFC; New Orleans and Minnesota appear to be in serious trouble heading into the playoffs which opens the door for the other four playoff teams in the conference to make a serious run at the title.

YTD Record 119-118
