Week 14 CFB Handicapping Breakdown

Poolside Rants weighs in with some picks for Week 14 Saturday football gambling action…NCAA Football style. Here is a 2 game ncaa football handicapping preview…

Bet On NCAA Football – Top Two Teams Look To Stay On Track To Glendale

Before College Football Gambling fans turn their attention to other sports betting events this week, we have a Friday NCAA game of the day pick for you. It’s time for our weekly Football picks for online ncaa football betting action.

If you bet on NCAA football, there are a couple of games this weekend which could have an effect on the race to Glendale, where the 2011 BCS championship game will take place.

Auburn will play in the SEC title game, while Oregon has to get past their biggest rivals on the road.

Oregon Oregon State Betting – Saturday, 3:30 PM ET

The No.2 Ducks (11-0, 8-0) are 15.5-point favorites on the road in Corvallis, where they have won in just one of their last five trips. However, that win came last year when the Ducks blasted the Beavers (5-6, 4-4) 65-38, and this year’s team is much better.

The Ducks pulled away from Arizona for a 48-29 win, while the Beavers were blanked 38-0 at Stanford, but they would love nothing more than to end their rivals’ BCS title hopes, along with gaining bowl eligibility. However, football betting players shouldn’t bet on an upset in this game as the Beavers are ranked 84th defensively, and that isn’t nearly enough to keep the Ducks from rolling. The Beavers are bad against the pass, and bad against the run, and that is a formula for a beatdown. Take Oregon with the points.

Auburn South Carolina Betting – Saturday, 4:00 PM ET

The No.1 Tigers (12-0, 8-0) kept their BCS hopes alive with a thrilling 28-27 win at Alabama in the Iron Bowl, coming back from 24 points down, while the No.19 Gamecocks (9-3, 5-3) gave up an early score, then tightened up for a 29-7 win at rival Clemson, setting up this SEC title game at the Georgia Dome. The Tigers are favored by 4.5 points in your pay per head sportsbook, and this is a rematch from September 25th, when the Tigers came away with a 35-27 win at home.

The Gamecocks couldn’t slow down Cam Newton in that game, and it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to do it on Saturday as he showed that he is, far and away, the best player in the college game. Not many players could inspire their team to come back from 24 down in Tuscaloosa, but Newton never panicked, and his team followed.

The Gamecocks have to try and outscore the Tigers, but Auburn’s defense proved that they could go into lockdown mode when they had to as they completely shut down Alabama in the second half of the Iron Bowl.

South Carolina is a good team and they’ll give Auburn a run for their money, with Newton on their side, we can’t see an upset in this one. Take Auburn to cover the online sports betting spread in this contest.
