Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins 4:15 ET

Bitter divisional rivals collide in a critical NFC East showdown that is chalk full of playoff implications, and BetUS Sportsbook will have all of the action covered for Sunday’s online betting clash between the Philadelphia Eagles (8-5-1, 9-5 ATS) and the Washington Redskins (7-7, 5-8-1 ATS) from our nation’s capitol. The Skins took the first meeting between these squads in the City of Brotherly Love by a 23-17 final count, but these teams look completely different now than they did way back on October 5th.

The road team has won four straight meetings in this series, and is 3-0-1 ATS during that stretch. Washington is 5-2-1 ATS in the L/8 between these teams. While Washington only has the slightest of playoff hopes remaining, the Eagles have far more realistic chances of qualifying for the second season. The loser of this game will likely be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs going into Week 17.

Since getting blown away by Baltimore the week before Thanksgiving, the Eagles have been absolutely rolling. On Monday night, they notched a comfortable 30-10 victory over the lowly Browns to pick up their third straight victory both SU and ATS. QB Donovan McNabb completed 26 of 35 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns against just one interception. In his L/3 games, McNabb has thrown for 741 yards and seven scores. If he averages 244.5 yards per game in his final two games, the Syracuse product will top the 4,000-yard plateau.

The magic number for Eagles bettors is 26 points. In games where the Eagles have scored at least 26, they are 7-1 ATS. They’re just 2-4 ATS when they don’t. DC Jim Johnson’s defense has been excellent once again this season, ranking 3rd in the NFL allowing just 274.4 yards per game.

It appears as though things have fallen apart at a bad time for HC Jim Zorn and the Skins. After opening up the season 6-2, Washington dropped its third straight game and fifth out of six by losing 20-13 in Cincinnati last Sunday. The Redskins thought they had erased a 17-0 deficit in the 3rd quarter, when RB Mike Sellers pounded into the end zone from one-yard out. Cincinnati successfully challenged that Sellers was down, and two plays later, forced a fumble to end the drive. Washington never had another chance to win the game.

QB Jason Campbell, once a legitimate MVP candidate, only threw for 167 yards in the defeat. Since the beginning of November, Washington has averaged just 11.0 points per game. In seven losses this year the Skins have only averaged 10.0 points per game, while in seven wins they averaged a respectable 23.0 points per game.

Oddsmakers sense that Philadelphia’s roll will continue, as they are 5-point favorites in this football betting affair, with the ‘total’ coming in at 39.5.

Whether you plan on flying with the soaring Eagles or backing the home-dogged Redskins in the Sunday nightcap, BetUS offers up all of the NFL betting action you care to sink your teeth into this weekend.
