NFL Week 15 Preview: New York vs. Dallas

NFL Football Betting Preview and football handicapping plus free picks for the Week 15 Wagering matchup between the New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys…

NFL Breakdown NYG @ DAL

The National Football League enters its 15th week of sports betting and BetUS Sportsbook will have all of the action covered when the New York Giants (11-2, 10-3 ATS) invade the Lone Star State to do battle with the Dallas Cowboys (8-5, 6-7 ATS).

Though the G-Men got swept in the regular season last year against their rivals from “Big D”, they have largely owned this series of late. Excluding those two games in ’07, the Giants are 4-4 SU, but are an astounding 7-0-1 ATS. Earlier this season, New York whooped up on Dallas 35-14 in Giants Stadium.

Were the Giants distracted by the off-the-field problems of WR Plaxico Burress this Sunday? For HC Tom Coughlin and Giants bettors, they sure hope that was the only problem. The Eagles marched into the Meadowlands and beat the G-Men 20-14 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final indicates.

QB Eli Manning was simply awful, completing just 13 of 27 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown, but most of those numbers were racked up on a late touchdown drive when the outcome of the game was already decided. The rushing trio of Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, and Ahmad Bradshaw toted the rock 23 times for 100 yards, but that was well below their average of 153.1 yards per game.

The defense simply had no answer for RB Brian Westbrook, who picked up 131 rushing yards on 33 carries and led the team with six catches for 72 yards with two total touchdowns. The ‘D’ still ranks 6th in the NFL, allowing 283.1 yards per game, while their offense is outscoring teams by almost 11 points per game. The loss snapped New York’s seven-game win streak both SU and ATS.

The Giants loss gave Dallas a chance to hop back into the NFC East race. With a 13-3 lead in the 4th quarter, it appeared as though the defending champs would have to wait another week to raise the divisional banner, but the Steelers had other plans. QB Ben Roethlisberger’s 6-yard touchdown strike to TE Heath Miller with 2:10 left in the game pulled the score level, and the third interception of the game by QB Tony Romo was returned for the game winning score just 21 seconds later.

Romo had an awful day against a stout Pittsburgh defense, only completing 19 of 36 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown to go with those three picks. Rookie RB Tashard Choice had a fantastic game in relief of RB Marion Barber, the Georgia Tech product ran for 88 yards and hauled in a team-high 78 receiving yards. It was a horrific break for football bettors who took the Boys and the four points as the 20-13 loss ended Dallas’ three-game SU and ATS winning streak.

Oddsmakers have no confidence in the Giants at this point, as they have installed the Cowboys as three-point favorites with the ‘total’ being set at 44.5.

Consider adding the G-Men to your football betting card this weekend. The Giants are 5-1 ATS in their L/6 against the NFC East. They’ve also thrived as underdogs of late, going 9-1 ATS and an astounding 8-2 SU in their L/10 games.
