If there is one team that I feel sorry for – it is the Houston Texans. Two crazy plays have made this a virtually meaningless game for them. Remember the insane Hail Mary against Jacksonville? Remember the last minute meltdown against the Jets? Wins in those two games would have the Texans in the driver’s seat in the AFC South. Now they have to take on a pissed off Ray Lewis on national television in a game that Baltimore needs in order to keep their AFC North Title aspirations alive.

The Ravens are coming off a tough loss against a tough defense in adverse conditions. This game will be totally different. They face a Swiss cheese defense and should be able to build on their 15th ranked passing game and their 16th ranked running game. The Ravens will score points in this game – the Texans have allowed at least 24 points in all but one game this season.

Flacco has been good and there is no reason to think that Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and TJ Houshmandzadeh won’t get free. Todd Heap may miss the game but if there is one game that they can afford to be without him, it is one against the Texans.

You can bet that Ray Lewis will be amped for this game – on National Television and coming off a loss. The 11th ranked pass defense will have their hands full as will the Houston`s 6th ranked running game. The Texans are well balanced on offense but expect Ray Lewis and the boys to be up to the challenge.

The Houston Texans own the NFL’s 10th best pass offense (242.50 yards per game) and will be bolstered this week by the return of Owen Daniels from injury. Andre Johnson is gimpy again but will have had four extra days to heel ahead of this game.

Arian Foster leads the NFL in rushing (1230 yards) and touchdowns (13). He and the Houston running game are the 7th ranked unit in the league (130.50 yards per game). Foster, as always will be a focal point either running of catching the ball out of the backfield.

The defense is where the Texans have hurt themselves this season. They are 31st versus the pass (287.42 yards per game) and a respectable 10th versus the run (101.42 yards per game). It is unlikely that Houston will be able to slow the ever-improving Joe Flacco and his Stud stable of receivers. Ray Rice offers up a good challenge to the run defense but this game will be won or lost through the air.

Betting Prediction:

The Texans defense (sorry to beat a dead horse) is awful! You can count on the Ravens scoring at will in this game. It is unlikely that the Texans will be able to put up enough points against the 4th ranked Baltimore scoring defense to defeat the hungry Baltimore side. Houston will get its yards and possibly scores as well, but my guess is that it will be when the game is out of hand. Garbage time yards are nice for Fantasy but not great when your season is on the line.

Betting Pick: Baltimore Ravens -3
