GMAC Bowl Betting Trends Tulsa vs Ball State

Two non-BCS conference teams that had dreams of going undefeated with a possible BCS bowl bid will meet in the GMAC Bowl tonight when the Ball State Cardinals (12-1 SU, 8-3-1 ATS) meet the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (10-3 SU, 7-5 ATS). Ball State is playing its first game since their crushing 42-24 MAC Championship loss to Buffalo despite the NCAA odds listing the Cardinals as lofty 15-point favorites. Meanwhile, Tulsa is also looking to avenge a conference championship loss, a 27-24 college football betting defeat to East Carolina that cost the Hurricane the C-USA title.

Ball State is led by sensational QB and MAC Offensive Player of the Year, Nate Davis. In 13 starts this year, Ball State bettors saw Davis put up dazzling numbers. He completed 66.9% of his passes for 3446 yards and 26 touchdowns with seven interceptions. With Davis loosening up defenses with his power arm, RB MiQuale Lewis was also able to have a career year, rushing for 1701 yards and 22 touchdowns (both of which led the MAC) this season. Ball State was also able to do this without their best wide receiver coming into the season, WR Dante Love, who was sadly paralyzed within the first few weeks of the season.

Away from home, the Cardinals were better than most teams for NCAA bettors this season. They boasted a 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS record against the closing college football betting line.

HC Todd Graham just received a long-term contract extension to remain a Golden Hurricane after the success he and OC Gus Malzahn have had in rejuvenating Tulsa’s program. Over the last three years, Tulsa has been one of the highest scoring teams in the nation, and although they have yet to channel that success into a conference title, they have received a lot of national exposure from it. Leading the team is QB David Johnson, who threw for 3866 yards and 43 touchdowns to go along with 18 interceptions to help Tulsa bettors cash the majority of their pointspread tickets this year. RB Tarrion Adams has also been impressive, toting the rock 228 times for 1316 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year.

Despite totals in the 60’s, 70’s, and even 80’s all year long, Tulsa’s high powered offense was still able to push the majority of their games over the ‘total’ with over bettors compiling a 6-4-2 mark against the closing NCAA line this season.

NCAAF betting trends to know for this game include: Ball State is 16-5 ATS over its last 21 games against teams with a winning record, Tulsa is 3-8 ATS its last 11 games against teams with a winning record, and the under is 6-1 per the college football odds in Tulsa’s last seven games after a SU defeat.

After initially making Ball State a 2.5 point favorite in this game, NCAA betting lines now show the Golden Hurricane as a three point favorite with a ‘total’ of 74 points.

With only the BCS Title Game remaining in the college football wagering season after this one, sports bettors will turn their attention to the NFL, NHL, NBA, and CBB, but that doesn’t change the fact that the best place for online sports betting is BetUS Sportsbook.

BetUS Sportsbook is the place to wager on the GMAC Bowl and the BCS Championship this CFB betting season.
