Super Bowl Betting – Experience Will Play Key Role In Super Bowl XLV

Two of the most storied franchises in football betting history are set to collide in Super Bowl XLV this Sunday, as the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers battle it out for football’s biggest prize. Both teams earned the right to be recognized among the best in the game, but only one will have the shot to be called champions, and while an argument can be made as to why both teams will win, there is one key factor that separates the two.

NFL Betting: Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Online Sports Betting Odds: Packers – 2.5

The Steelers head in to this game with a wealth of experience dating back to two Super Bowl titles over the past five years, with a veteran core that knows what it takes to win it all. Green Bay has one of the most talented teams to represent the NFC in years, but it still might not be enough as for many Packers’ players this will be their first time at the big dance.

Why To Bet On The Packers?

All of the talk to do with Green Bay begins and ends with the man under center, as third-year quarterback Aaron Rodgers has become the trendiest topic heading in to this game, and for good reason. After learning behind one of the best in the game for the first couple of years after he was drafted, Rodgers is now the man for the Packers, and has opened up an offense filled with weapons that could scare any defense.

The wide receiver trip of Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, and Jordy Nelson rank among the best in the game, while running back James Sparks has looked good this postseason. The Green Bay 3-4 is not at the same level as the Steelers’ just yet, but with Pro Bowl performers such as cornerback Charles Woodson and safety Nick Collins, the Packers can hang with the best.

Why To Bet On The Steelers?

Pittsburgh has a pretty similar makeup, although their defense has been together much longer, and had a lot more time to develop as a unit. The same can be said about an offense that features veterans such as Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward, who alongside Troy Polamalu and James Harrison already wear two rings. Roethlisbeger has redeemed himself with one of the best seasons of his career, while Ward has been helped by the presence of deep-threat Mike Wallace. Running back Rashard Mendenhall is a bruiser that simply doesn’t stop, and has looked good in the postseason so far. The Steelers will need another big performance from him to open things up for the passing game to go over the top.

How The Game Will Play Out

In a fairly even matchup, it’s the Steelers that get the nod based on pay per head experience. Pittsburgh has won two titles over the past five years, and this is their third appearance in six so they’ll get the nod over a Green Bay team with a lot of new faces at the big game.

Super Bowl Betting Pick: Steelers + 2.5
