NFL Pick Of The Week: Bills vs. Cardinals

Free Bills vs. Cardinals Pick + Trends – BUFFALO is 2-0 against the spread versus ARIZONA since 1992, and 2 of 2 games in this series have gone OVER THE TOTAL since 1992

NFL: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

What the heck is going on? The Tennessee Titans are a perfect 4-0 straight up and against the spread?

The last two weeks, I’ve been burned by the Tennessee Titans and their opponents. Three weeks ago it was horrible play calling by the Houston Texans and last week it was an anemic Minnesota offense that was within six points in the closing minutes, but again the Titans got a late interception to stop a potential game-winning drive.

Even with the Titans digging in to hand me a pair of losses, I thought about going against them again this week with the Baltimore Ravens listed as three-point underdogs at home for Sunday’s game. I just don’t buy the Titans. More so, I just don’t buy whoever they have at quarterback, whether it be Vince Young or Kerry Collins.

Sure, they have a great defense that’ll keep them in almost every game but I’ve been waiting for Collins to make the mistake that costs his team field position and some points. It hasn’t happened yet with running backs Chris Johnson and LenDale White taking the pressure off the quarterback but it could happen this weekend if the Ravens shut down the run as expected.

Despite my belief in Baltimore this week, I also don’t completely buy the other 4-0 team in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the makeup of this team but 4-0 and everybody laying money on them to go 5-0… sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. The Bills have a talented young team but they’ve also been let off the hook against some of the league’s worst teams.

NFL Pick Of The Week: Bills vs. Cardinals Look at the numbers two weeks ago and the Bills narrowly escaped at home against the Oakland Raiders. Oakland led 23-14 with five minutes left but the Bills came back to earn a 24-23 win. Last week, they trailed the lowly St. Louis Rams in the fourth quarter before getting some points from the defense in what turned into a 31-14 win.

I know you may be thinking that this week’s opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, aren’t a good team but they are a heck of a lot better than Oakland and St. Louis. You can even say they are better than the Seattle Seahawks team that Buffalo bounced in Week 1 and if you take into account the injuries and tragedy that the Jacksonville Jaguars were dealing with back in Week 2, the Cards are the best team the Bills have faced so far.

It doesn’t bother me that Arizona is likely going to be without wide receiver Anquan Boldin because they still have Larry Fitzgerald catching passes with Edgerrin James and young third-down back Tim Hightower running the rock.

Don’t let the defensive performance in New York last week scare you. It’s not often that a decent team gets torched in back-to-back weeks. Like I told you about the Raiders after the horrible first game, they will show pride and bounce back strong.

That’s what I expect this week. And that’s why I like the Cardinals as a 1.5-point favorite on Sunday.
