Since 2005, the games he has been behind the plate average an astonishing 10.7 runs per game. What causes them to go this high? On average there are 7.3 walks per game allowed and the batting average is at a very healthy .276.
In this time frame, the over is 68-56 in his games behind the dish.
Jim Reynolds – Reynolds hasn’t been calling too many games of late, but if you find him on the schedule for behind home plate, you better consider the over. The over is an amazing 90-65 in the last four years when he is controlling the game.
An average of 9.8 runs per game and a .270 batting average are certainly helpful to the cause.
Tim McClelland – McClelland started as an umpire in 1983, and he has been one of the more consistent umpires in the league throughout that entire time span. In the last two years the over is 39-27 in his 56 games behind home plate.
Since 2005, his games have averaged 10.2 runs per game, second only to Jerry Crawford among all umpires. He calls just 61.6% of pitches a strike and allows 7.5 walks per game. 
Gerry Davis – Here is another veteran umpire who has shown he tends to help the over each and every year. Davis has been an umpire since 1982 and has solid trends that lead to high scoring games. Since 2005, 10.1 runs per game have been scored in his games. The over is 88-76 during this time.
Davis seems a bit reluctant to ring up the batter, as he has the lowest strikeout total per game at 12.7 in the last four years.
Tim Tschida – In recent years, Tschida has been right up there with the highest scoring umpires in the league. In the last two years the over is a combined 41-23 in his games behind home plate. Batters hit .275 with Tschida behind the plate since 2005, which is second only to Jerry Crawford. There are 10.0 runs scored per game and 7.3 walks per game during that time frame.
If Tschida keeps up his current pace, he’ll climb this list quickly.
I strongly believe umpire information is one of the single biggest factors in determining which baseball game to bet on.
Understand that while some umpires can change their tendencies from year to year, those who are the most consistent are the ones you want to keep your eye on for possible values.
