NCAA Week Five Football Betting Moneylines

It’s time to keep plugging away after another nice underdog hit with Wake Forest last weekend. The card looks tricky this week so let’s just try to avoid any landmines.

Record: 12-2 (+8.15 units)

Navy Midshipmen @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-900)

Admittedly, Wake Forest doesn’t always dominate as a big favorite but this is one case where we will trust them. The Demon Deacons are off a big win against Florida State and back at home against the feeble Midshipmen, there is plenty of potential for a letdown situation.

Jim Grobe’s crew seems to always play to the level of their competition but this year they appear to have a superior team – particularly their defense. Navy is a very weak team and unless they play perfect, they won’t be pulling the upset.

Free Pick: Wake Forest -900

South Florida Bulls @ North Carolina State Wolfpack (+330)

NC State pulled an impressive upset last week as they upended East Carolina’s Cinderella season but can they make it two in a row?

The Wolfpack are a young team that has dealt with a ton of adversity to start the season. The good news is that they seemed to have turned a corner in last week’s win against the Pirates and should be ready to give South Florida a very stiff test.

The offensive backfield appears to be set as Russell Wilson is slowly emerging as a reliable playmaker for the Wolfpack. Look for them to play the Bulls very tight.

 Free Pick: NC State +330

Marshall Thundering Herd @ West Virginia Mountaineers (-700)

West Virginia, a supposed BCS contender, is now only 1-2 and is reeling. It’s quite clear that they miss their head coach, Rich Rodriguez.

The Mountaineers were clearly overrated as a championship contender but they are still a pretty good team. They’ve lost to the East Carolina Pirates and the Colorado Buffalos in each of the past two weeks but there isn’t a ton of shame in that. But losing to Marshall is another story.

 Free Pick: West Virginia -700

Colorado Buffaloes (+190) @ Florida State Seminoles

After watching the Florida State Seminoles play last week, it’s hard to have much faith in them. Their defense is fairly steady but their offense is firing blanks.

Colorado looks like a team that might be slowly rising and with a solid quarterback, they are capable of winning this game.

In the grand scheme of things, the way that the ACC is right now, a mid-tier Big 12 team might be as good as the ACC’s best programs. Colorado should be confident after upsetting West Virginia last week and heading to Bobby Bowden Field isn’t as daunting as it used to be.

 Free Pick: Colorado +190
