NFL Sports Betting – Reeling Packers Host Streaking Texans

The Houston Texans (5-7 SU, 5-7 ATS, 9-3 O/U) have won two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook and have covered the spread in three straight games for NFL sports betting backers. The Green Bay Packers (5-7 SU, 7-5 ATS, 8-3-1 O/U) have dropped two straight games while failing to cover the spread in each outing.

On Sunday, both teams will be gunning for a victory when they meet at Lambeau Field.

The Texans pounded the disappointing Jacksonville Jaguars 30-17 on Monday night to easily cover the spread as 3.5-point home favorites

Steve Slaton ran for 130 yards on 21 carries with two touchdowns while quarterback Sage Rosenfels completed 14 of 24 passes for 200 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

“I wanted to run the ball,” Slaton said. “I wanted to let him (head coach Gary Kubiak) to know that if he needed someone to count on, it was me.”

“Our defense was excellent throughout the game,” Kubiak said. “Our defense played extremely well, gave us tremendous opportunities.”

The Packers lost to the Carolina Panthers 35-31 as a 3-point home favorite last week. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 29 of 45 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns with one interception but allowed Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams to score a whopping four rushing touchdowns.

“We have been way too inconsistent, definitely underachieving at times,” Rodgers said. “The inconsistency is the biggest disappointment.”

“We’re just not making big plays when the money’s on the table,” Packers right tackle Mark Tauscher said. “We don’t punch it in on third-and-1. You don’t make any plays. We’re playing in spurts, and we’re not doing enough to win games.”

NFL Odds

Houston Texans +6 -110
Green Bay Packers -6 -110

Over 47 -110
Under 47 -110

Analysis: The Packers are playing pretty bad football at the moment while the Texans seem to have finally found their stride – albeit far too late to make the playoffs. Take the Texans to cover the spread while pushing the Packers for the outright win.
