Cappers Saints vs. Panthers Betting Trends + Pick

Preview and Week 7 NFL cappers matchup tips for this week’s New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers matchup, plus an NFL Betting Preview, a look at the gambling trends, plus a free pick

Panthers Looking To Bounce Back Against High Scoring Saints

The New Orleans Saints (3-3 SU, 4-2 ATS, 4-2 O/U), absolutely pounded the atrocious Oakland Raiders on Sunday, winning 34-3 in the BetUS Sportsbook to cover as seven-points favorites at home.

The Carolina Panthers (4-2 SU, 3-2-1 ATS, 1-5 O/U), suffered a meltdown of major proportions in losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-3 on the road while failing to cover as one-point road underdogs.

The Saints will be looking to win consecutive games for the first time this season while Carolina looks to shake of its resounding loss when the teams meet on the gridiron at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday in a battle of NFC South division rivals.

Saints Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees completed a fantastic 26 of 30 passes for 320 yards with three touchdowns against the lowly Raiders while elusive running back Reggie Bush added two touchdowns.

Brees took exception to the way the Saints inconsistent play through five games against Oakland.

“At some point you’ve just got to take a hold of the team and say, ‘All right, this is our team and this is showing poorly upon us and we need to get this stuff fixed,'” Brees said.

Carolina’s starting quarterback, Jake Delhomme was harassed into an extremely poor performance against the Buccaneers’ stout defense.

Delhomme completed just 20 of 39 passes for 242 yards with no touchdowns while tossing three interceptions.

Panthers’ head coach John Fox remained calm following the loss.

“The sky is not falling. It’s not the end of the world,” Fox said. “I don’t think anybody in that locker room – coaches, players, anybody – is pleased with the way we performed yesterday. … We’ve got this day to admit mistakes, correct mistakes and then hopefully not let them happen again.”

The Panthers are currently in a three-way tie with Tampa Bay and Atlanta with the Saints just one game back.

The Saints may have wide receiver Marques Colston and tight end Jeremy Shockey back following lengthy injuries.

New Orleans is ranked second in overall offense, averaging 412.2 yards per game and fourth in scoring, averaging 28.7 points per contest. Carolina is ranked third in overall defense, second in pass defense and third in scoring defense, limiting their opponents to just 16.2 points per contest.

NFL Odds

New Orleans Saints +3 -105
Carolina Panthers -3 -115

Over 44½ -110
Under 44½ -110

Analysis: This is a tough call for NFL bettors as both teams have been inconsistent at times this season, but I like the Panthers to bounce back against a Saints team that is mediocre at best defensively. While Carolina is offensively challenged I think they will win this game and cover the spread by the narrowest of margins.
