NFL Week 8 Betting Action – Toothless Lions Host Rollin’ Redskins

The Washington Redskins (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS, 2-5 O/U), beat the Cleveland Browns 14-11 on Sunday but failed to cover the 7-point spread just as I predicted in the BetUS Locker Room last week.

The Skins got another excellent performance from running back Clinton Portis who carried 27 times for 175 yards and one touchdown and a competent, if not outstanding performance from blossoming quarterback Jason Campbell who completed 14 of 23 passes for 164 yards and one touchdown.

Washington shut down the Browns’ high-powered offense, limiting quarterback Derek Anderson to just 136 yards passing yards.

The Detroit Lions (0-6 SU, 2-4 ATS, 3-3 O/U), remained winless on the season, dropping their sixth straight game on Sunday in losing to the Houston Texans 28-21 despite putting on a furious fourth quarter rally.

Quarterback Dan Orlovsky completed 12 of 25 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown, hooking up with gifted wideout Calvin Johnson twice for a whopping 154 yards and one touchdown, including a 96-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NFL Free Picks:

Analysis: The Redskins haven’t won a single game this season by more than a touchdown, but will snap that trend in this contest for BetUS MLB Bettors who want to back them this week. Don’t worry, this pick is a virtual ‘lock’ BetUS Sportsbook NFL bettors.
