NFL Lock Alert – Patriots Look to Bounce Back Against Reeling Seahawks

The New England Patriots (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS, 5-6-1 O/U) were embarrassed in their last game, getting routed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a 1-point home favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook. The Seattle Seahawks (2-10 SU, 4-7-1 ATS, 5-7 O/U) have dropped five straight games while failing to cover the spread for NFL sports betting backers in three of those contests.

Both teams will be looking to get back in the win column when they meet at Qwest Field on Sunday.

The Patriots lost to Pittsburgh 33-10 as quarterback Matt Cassel completed 19 of 39 passes for 169 yards but failed to throw a touchdown pass while getting picked off twice.

New England also lost three fumbles in the contest as part of a five-turnover day.

“A couple of weeks ago, all the games became must wins,” said veteran running back Sammy Morris, who scored the Patriots’ only touchdown. “Now it puts a little more emphasis on every game.”

The Seahawks were crushed by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, losing 34-9 as 12.5-point road underdogs in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Veteran quarterback matt Hasselbeck completed 22 of 38 passes for 287 yards with one interception but was running for his life most of the game while getting sacked a whopping seven times.

Seattle got one field goal in each of the first three quarters from veteran place kicker Olindo Mare before getting shut out in the final period.

“Coach told us we had to be close to perfect to beat these guys,” Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said. “We haven’t been close to playing like that all season. If they keep playing the way they are, they have a chance to win it all. There was a time when we were that talented bunch with no injuries. It hasn’t been like that for us this season.”
