Bears Host Longtime NFC North Foes in Winless Lions
The winless Detroit Lions (0-72-5 ATS, 3-3-1 P/U) lost to the Washington Redskins 25-17 on Sunday as speedy wide receiver and return man Santana Moss returned a punt 80 yards early in the fourth quarter to put the Skins up for good.
The Chicago Bears (4-3 SU, 4-2-1 ATS, 3-4 O/U) are well-rested after getting a bye in Week 7, following their high-scoring, 48-41 Week 6 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Detroit’s league-worst defense has allowed six quarterbacks to record career-highs in passer rating against them in seven games this season including Redskins starter Jason Campbell who went 23-of-28 for a season-high 328 yards and one touchdown.
Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky went 21-for-5 for 223 yards and one touchdown in the loss. While the Lions didn’t commit a single turnover in the game, their defense couldn’t stop Washington – or running water for that matter – failing to cover as 7-point home underdogs.
Chicago is second in the league in scoring, averaging 28.0 points per game this season and put 48 points on the board against the Vikings in Week 7 as quarterback Kyle Orton completed 21 of 32 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns to help Chicago cover as 3-point home favorites.

Analysis: The Bears are clearly the better tea in this matchup, but I like the Lions to cover the high, 13.5-point spread here easily after getting routed by Chicago 34-7 on Oct. 5. The Lions and Bears have also played the under in three of their last five contests, leading me to believe the total will go under in this matchup as well.
