NFL Week 9 Free Picks Analysis – Giants Host NFC East Rival Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys (5-3 SU, 3-5 ATS, 5-3 O/U) snapped their two-game losing streak on Sunday, covering the spread as 1-point home favorites for BetUS NFL sports betting fans everywhere.

The New York Giants, (6-1 SU, 5-2 ATS, 4-3 O/U)have won two straight games coming into this matchup, covering the spread each time for backers who like the defending Super Bowl champions.

The fans at Giants Stadium will be treated to another thrilling NFC East showdown when the teams meet on Sunday.

The Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-9 at home despite some mediocre passing statistics from quarterback Brad Johnson who completed just 19 of 33 passes for a meager passed for 122 yards and one touchdown in the defensive battle. Running back Marion barber added 71 rushing yards on 25 carries.

“We knew going in it was going to be an ugly game at times,” Johnson said. “Third-and-long, check it down, let them boo you – that’s OK by me. … You’ve just got to manage the game.”

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips one of the best defensive minds in the game, took a more active role this week, telling the team’s defensive coordinator Brian Stewart which plays he wanted to run. The plan worked as the Cowboys allowed their fewest points of the season.

“I just thought if I got more involved, it would help,” Phillips said.

The Giants beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-14 to cover the spread as a 3-point road underdog in the BetUS Sportsbook in Week 8 as the team’s No. 3-ranked defense pressured Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger into a dismal 13-for-29 passing day, picking him off a whopping four times.

New York quarterback Eli Manning kept his composure in going 19-for-32 for 199 yards and the team’s only offensive touchdown.

“Things weren’t going well at times and it’s easy to get frustrated, but we didn’t,” Manning said. “We hung in there tough and found a way to win. Getting frustrated is not going to fix anything. Sometimes you’ve got to take the field goals and hope that the defense will keep playing tough.”

Dallas Cowboys +9 -110
New York Giants -9 -110

Under 41 -110

Analysis: While I like the Giants to win this home game against their longtime NFC East rivals, I think the Cowboys are going to find a way to cover the spread by keeping it close in what turns out to be a defensive battle between the two teams in less than ideal weather conditions.
