Cappers Chargers vs. Saints Betting Trends + Pick

Preview and Week 8 NFL cappers matchup tips for this week’s San Diego Chargers vs. New Orleans Saints matchup, plus an NFL Betting Preview, a look at the gambling trends, plus a free pick

Inconsistent Bowl – New Orleans Saints Host San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers (3-4 SU, 3-3-1 ATS, 4-3 O/U), have alternated wins and losses in each of their last four games.

The New Orleans Saints (3-4 SU, 4-3 ATS, 4-3 O/U), have done them one better – alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games.

Both team entered the 2008-09 season with Super Bowl hopes but are now just trying to hold on to their fading postseason hopes in this matchup which takes place in London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The Saints failed to cover as 3-point road underdogs in getting routed by the Carolina Panthers 30-7 in Week 7 as quarterback Drew Brees was held to just 21 of 39 passing for 231 yards and one interception.

New Orleans couldn’t stop Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme and wide receiver Steve Smith as Delhomme threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, hooking up with Smith six times for 122 yards and one touchdown.

The Saints also saw running back Reggie Bush, the league’s leading receiver with 41 catches, go down with a knee injury after rushing for 55 yards on nine carries.

“Of course we’re going to miss him, and I hope he’s not out very long,” Brees said.

The Chargers lost to the Buffalo Bills on the road 23-14, failing to cover as 1-point underdogs as Buffalo held running back LaDainian Tomlinson to just 41 yards on 14 carries and held the ball for just over 35 minutes to keep Philip Rivers and company off the field for long stretches of the contest.

While Rivers had a decent game, completing 22 of 29 passes for 208 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, the Bolts committed three turnovers and saw Rivers get sacked twice.

“Rightfully so, I should shoulder a lot of the blame,” Rivers said. “I was playing pretty good, and then you have three turnovers and it kills you. I hope it never happens again.”

Under 38 -110

Analysis: Simply put, the way both of these teams are playing, it’s really hard to figure out which team is going to show up on either sideline. The best bet for this contest is to take the ‘Over’ BetUS Sportsbook NFL bettors as it will be an undeniable lock. While I like the Chargers to win outright, I think it’s a risky proposition banking on either club to do anything other than get the ball in the end zone.
