Cappers Cardinals vs. Jets Betting Trends + Pick

Week 4 NFL cappers matchup tips for this week’s Arizona Cardinals vs. N.Y. Jets matchup, plus an NFL Betting Preview, a look at the gambling trends, plus a free pick

Reeling Jets Host Warner, Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals (2-1 SU, 2-1 ATS, 1-2 O/U), are coming off their first loss of the regular season after falling to the Washington Redskins 24-17 on Sunday.

The Cardinals hit the road this week to take on the New York Jets (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS, 1-2 O/U), who have dropped two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook after getting spanked by the San Diego Chargers 48-29 on Monday night, just one week after suffering a 19-10 loss to the Patriots one week earlier.

The Cardinals failed to get off to their first 3-0 start since 1974 as quarterback Kurt Warner completed just 16 of 30 passes for 192 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

“It’s a shame,” Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “We were kind of behind the 8-ball all day.”

Arizona allowed Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell to complete 22 of 30 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns.

The Cardinals will try to bounce back against a Jets team that is also in search of a much-needed victory after getting dominated by the Chargers.

While quarterback Brett Favre went 30-of-42 for 271 yards and three touchdown passes, he also threw two costly interceptions and what should have been four picks and the Chargers dropped two more sure picks in the contest.

Favre also rolled his left ankle early in the third quarter.

“It felt like I got shot in the leg or something,” said Favre, who played all but the Jets’ final possession. “They took some X-rays and I think it’s OK.”

The Jets allowed Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers to throw three TD passes while going an efficient 19-of-25 for 250 yards

Despite their loss, the Cardinals are ranked in the top 10 in both, total offense, (10th) and defense, (8th).

New York is ranked just 23rd in overall offense, averaging just 285.7 total yards per game, including a poor 85.7 rushing yards per game

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my analysis and NFL Free Picks:

The Cardinals are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games in September.
The Cardinals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on grass.
The Jets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss.
The Jets are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS loss.
The Over is 14-3 in Cardinals last 17 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
The Over is 4-1 in Cardinals last 5 games in Week 4.
The Under is 4-0 in Jets last 4 home games.
The Under is 6-0 in Jets last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.

NFL Odds

Arizona Cardinals +1½ -110
New York Jets -1½ -110

Over 45 -110
Under 45 -110

Analysis: While these two teams are fairly evenly matched, I genuinely believe the Arizona Cardinals are going to march into New York and beat the mediocre Jets in a close matchup that could come down to a last-second field goal. With one of the best young defensive backfield in all of football, the Cardinals should be able to limit Favre while pulling this game out. I like the Arizona Cardinals to cover the small spread in this contest, even on the road.
