NFL Week 17 Wagering Browns vs Steelers

The Cleveland Browns (4-11 SU, 6-8-1 ATS, 6-8-1 O/U) have been money in the bank for BetUS NFL sports betting fanatics that have wagered against them five weeks. The dysfunctional Browns look to close out their 2008 regular season on a high note when they visit their longtime division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4 SU, 8-7 ATS, 8-7 O/U) on Sunday at Heinz Field.

The Browns lost their fifth consecutive game on Sunday, falling to the Cincinnati Bengals 14-0 while failing to cover the spread for backers as a 3-point home favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook.

Third string quarterback Ken Dorsey passed for 68 yards with three interceptions for Cleveland and running back Jamal Lewis had 76 rushing yards on 16 carries.

“Worst season I’ve ever played in,” Lewis said.

The Steelers are coming off an emphatic 31-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans, failing to cover the spread for BetUS NFL sports betting backers as a 3-point road favorite last week.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went 26-for-40 for 331 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions while wide receiver Hines Ward caught seven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Roethlisberger also fumbled three times in the contest.

“This was not a statement game by no means,” Fisher said. “It was a momentum game. We needed to build momentum for the playoffs and the bye week by playing well and winning the game. The bonus is the second game here at home.”

Rookie defensive lineman Jason Jones, who started in place of injured All-Pro Albert Haynesworth, had 3 1/2 sacks and forced all of Roethlisberger’s fumbles.

“The effort we got out of that group was nothing less than spectacular,” Fisher said.

Analysis: Let’s be real for a minute and just admit that the Browns don’t have a snowball’s chance in you-know-where of beating the Steelers in this contest. If the Bengals beat Cleveland’s collective brains in last week, then what do you think the Steelers are going to do this week following their emphatic loss last week?

Take this ‘gimme’ all the way to the bank by riding the Steelers.
