Cappers Browns vs. Redskins Betting Trends + Pick

Preview and Week 7 NFL cappers matchup tips for this week’s Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Redskins matchup, plus an NFL Betting Preview, a look at the gambling trends, plus a free pick

Redskins Look To Rebound from Loss against Rejuvenated Browns

The Washington Redskins (4-2 SU, 4-2 ATS, 2-4 O/U) were caught off guard by the previously-winless St. Louis Rams in a contest I predicted correctly in the BetUS Locker Room last week, losing 19-17 at home on Sunday.

The Cleveland Browns (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS, 2-3 O/U), won their second game of the season and may have saved their season in the process, by absolutely spanking the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants 35-14 at home on Monday night in a shocker that I’ll admit I never saw coming.

Now, both teams will be gunning for a victory on Sunday when they meet at FedExField.

While running back Clinton Portis rushed for 129 yards on 21 carries with two touchdowns, Washington struggled offensively against an active Rams defense that looked really good in head coach Jim Haslett’s first game.

While Skins quarterback Jason Campbell completed 18 of 26 passes for 208 yards with no touchdowns, the Rams sacked the young signal caller four times and pressured him on several other occasions.

The Browns won their second straight game by jumping all over the surprised and formerly unbeaten Giants and never let up in their surprising win.

2007 Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Anderson got on track in a big way, completing 18 of 29 passes for 310 yards with two touchdowns to help Cleveland cover as 7-point home underdogs.

Veteran running back Jamal Lewis added 88 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown and Cleveland’s excellent pass defense picked off Giants quarterback Eli Manning three times with cornerback Eric Wright returning one pick 94 yards for a touchdown.

Here is a look at tonight’s key betting trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NFL Free Picks:

The total has gone UNDER in 9 of Cleveland’s last 11 games
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Cleveland’s last 5 games on the road
Cleveland is 12-4 ATS in its last 16 games
Cleveland is 7-18 SU in its last 25 games on the road
Washington is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
Washington is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games
Washington is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home
Washington is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games at home

NFL Odds

Cleveland Browns +7 -110
Washington Redskins -7 -110

Over 42 -110
Under 42 -110

Analysis: While I still think very highly of the Redskins coming into this contest, I don’t see them covering the spread in this matchup against a Browns team that looks like it has suddenly found its way on offense and has been one of the best pass defenses in the league all season long despite their previous offensive struggles.

While the Skins get the win here, I say the cover goes to the Browns and the ‘Over’ is a lock.
