NFL Betting Picks – Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Cincinnati Bengals (1-10-1 SU, 4-8 ATS, 5-6-1 O/U) went from bad to worse in their last outing and have failed to cover the spread for NFL sports betting backers in each of their last two games. The Indianapolis Colts (8-4 SU, 5-6-1 ATS, 6-6 O/U) have won five straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook, but have only covered the spread once in their last three games.

On Sunday, the Colts will look to lay an emphatic ‘smackdown’ on the beleaguered Bengals when the two teams battle at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Bengals were routed by the Baltimore Ravens 34-3 as a 7-point home underdog last week as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 12 of 31 passes for 124 yards with no touchdowns and the team being held to just 57 total rushing yards.

“Obviously, we’re in a funk,” said Fitzpatrick, who led the team in rushing for the third time this season. “We have personnel that’s better than these statistics.”

“When you get your head kicked in like that, there’s not much to say,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “This team won’t have to go through another season like this. Nor will the fans.”

The Colts defeated the Cleveland Browns 10-6 but failed to cover the spread as a 4-point favorite last week. Defensive lineman Robert Mathis scored the Colts’ lone touchdown on a fumble return, while quarterback Peyton Manning passed for 125 yards with two interceptions in the win.

“Our defense won the game for us,” said Manning.

“We scored three points on them,” he added. “That’s a great credit to their defense. We still won, but we probably didn’t play winning offensive football. You score three points, that’s not good enough.”

“Close, blowouts, whatever it takes,” defensive end Dwight Freeney said.
