2009 Gator Bowl Clemson vs. Nebraska Preview

The Clemson Tigers finished the season on a roll playing tough defense and the Nebraska Cornhuskers finished the year on a roll playing great offense.
Both will after a win January 1 when they meet at Municipal Stadium in the Gator Bowl.

Clemson is 7-5 SU, 4-6 ATS and Nebraska is 8-4 SU, 6-6 ATS

The Gator Bowl is an annual college football bowl game that is played at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. It is one of the oldest college bowls, held continuously since 1946.

Back in 1981 #1 Clemson played #4 Nebraska in a January 1 bowl game in Florida to win the national championship. This game isn’t quite as important.

This will be an interesting matchup: Nebraska’s balanced offense against Clemson’s well-rounded defense.  Joe Ganz has been lost among the myraid of Big Twelve quarterbacks this year, but he’s quietly racked up 3,332 yards and 23 TDs against 10 interceptions and ranks 14th in passing efficiency. On paper Clemson should have a much more productive offense, and that is one reason Tommy Bowden isn’t coach any more.

Both teams enter the game on three-game winning streaks.

Betting Trends:

Clemson is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
Clemson is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Nebraska’s last 5 games
Nebraska is 8-15 ATS in its last 23 games
