2008 Brut Sun Bowl Pittsburgh vs. Oregon State Preview
The Pittsburgh Panthers clobbered Oregon State the last time they met in a bowl game back in 2002. But Pitt (9-3)opened as a small dog for its New Year’s Eve battle with the 8-4 Beavers in the Sun Bowl.
Oddsmakers currently have the Beavers listed as 2½-point favorites versus the Panthers, while the game’s total is sitting at 52.
Pittsburgh is 9-3 SU, 6-6 ATS and Oregon State is 8-4 SU, 8-4 ATS
The game will pit No. 23 Pittsburgh against Oregon St. on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at noon (MT) at Sun Bowl Stadium. Pittsburgh (9-3, 5-2 Big East) secured the selection with a 34-10 road win over Connecticut. The win marked the fourth win in the last five games for the Panthers. The Panthers are 22-22 against Pac-10 schools all-time.
Oregon State (8-4, 7-2 Pac-10) is making its second trip to the Sun Bowl in El Paso. The Beavers defeated Missouri 39-38 in the 2006 Sun Bowl.
