The Chick-fil-A Bowl, formerly called the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and before that simply called the Peach Bowl, is an annual college football bowl game played in Atlanta. The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the longest-running rivalry series of top-ranked teams from the ACC and SEC and is recognized as one of the most competitive bowl games in college football.
Because of the recent success, this season’s 7-5 record is certainly a disappointment for head coach Les Miles and his team. The Tigers opened the ’08 season with four straight wins, but five of the next eight outings resulted in defeat, including the last two. As for Georgia Tech, it has posted a 9-3 record under the guidance of first- year head coach Paul Johnson.
Georgia Tech owns a 12-6 series lead over LSU, and the teams squared off in the 2000 Chick-fil-A Bowl, a game that resulted in a 28-14 victory by the Tigers.
