HOT + NOT For Week 8 Fantasy Football

Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our Dave B our fantasy expert weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics for Week 8 action…

Hot and Not Week 8

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

HEY FANTASY FOOTBALLERS!!!! EVER BET ON AN NFL GAME???? TRY OUR EXPERT PICKS!! —–>

Ahhhh Fantasy Football – a habit that allows a person to rest easy knowing that their team will light it up every week!!  I don’t know about you, but the opposite is true with me.  I stay awake at night thinking about the matchups to try and figure out which one of my players will be on the Hot and Not list.  OK – a bit extreme!!

Anyways – there was some heat once again in Week 7 (which none of my players are) and some chill (which a disproportionate # of my players are).

So here we go with this week’s Hot and Not.

HOT

1. Tom Brady – New England – Going into his bye this Week, Brady has passed for 688 yards and 9 TD’s over the last 2 games.  Insane #s that reestablishes Tom as one of the Hottest players in the game.

2. Peyton Manning – Indianapolis – Manning’s consecutive 300 yard game streak was snapped by St. Louis???? I had to read it twice too!   Anyways, Manning had averaged 3 TD’s in his last 4 games.  He is Fantasy Gold right now and is Hot Hot Hot.

3. Aaron Rogers – Green Bay – Although Rogers has had an easy schedule, he has been putting up some great numbers.  At least 2 touchdowns in his last 4 games and only 1 game fewer than 250 yards this year is proof enough that Rogers belongs here.  Minnesota, Tampa and Dallas are up next – no reason to think that Rogers won’t continue his Hot play.

4. Tony Romo – Dallas – Some have questioned Romo’s leadership.  Others have questioned his ability.  One thing is certain right now and that is – Romo is playing some damn good football.  2 straight 300 yard games and 5 TD’s in those 2 games.  Seattle is next – you’ll likely see Romo’s name here next week too.

5. NY Jets Running Game – Thomas Jones is scorching right now and Leon Washington – WAS too.  After Leon went down with a season ending injury, his replacement Shonne Greene picked up the slack.  The Jets are playing the type of football needed when the weather turns cold – they are Hot as hell and should keep rolling with games against Miami and Jacksonville.

6. Cedric Benson – Cincinnati – 37 carries on Sunday?  189 yards?  Yup its true – Benson just keeps rolling.  He is putting up MVP numbers this year and fears that his workload is going to catch up to him seem unwarranted.  Cedric is Hot and is propelling his team to odds defying heights.

7. Miles Austin – Dallas – Absolutely nuts what Austin is doing.  421 yards receiving and 4 TD’s in his last 2 games!!!  That’s HOT!

8. Wes Welker -New England – Has 10 catches in each of the last 2 weeks and has added 3 TD’s over that span.  If you don’t love Welker, you are not a Football fan.  He’s a blue collar Fantasy Stud who doesn’t complain and just does his job.  Refreshing isn’t it!

9. Sidney Rice – Minnesota – Another WR that has quite a 2 game streak going.  Over the last 2 games, Rice has gained 312 yards.  That’s more than Terrell Owens has combined in 7 games!!  Rice is unquestionably Brett Favre’s favorite target right now and if it wasn’t for Austin and Welker, he’d be the Hottest WR in the NFL.

10. Ochocinco – Cincinnati – Finally letting his play do the talking for him.  How’s that working out for ya Chad?  2 straight games over 100 yards receiving and 2 TD’s in his last game answers that question.  As long as Ocho’s mouth is cold, he’ll be Hot.

11 Owen Daniels – Houston – Wow!!  This guy is simply sizzling.  He appears to be indefensible (interesting word) and has turned into the most dominant Tight End in the league.  If you own him in your Fantasy league, congratulations.

NOT

1. Jake Delhomme – Carolina – Is so Not Hot that there is a QB controversy between the 2 backups for his starting job.   4 touchdowns and 13 interceptions so far this year – you do the math!!

2. Jason Campbell – Washington – Captain of a sinking ship!!  Campbell just doesn’t seem to have “it” and even a change of play callers didn’t seem to help this week.  Campbell is Not Hot on a team that is c-c-c-c-cold!

3. Derek Anderson – Cleveland – 3 straight games with under 125 yards passing, 1 td. and 3 interceptions.  The fact that this dude still has a job is startling.  What the hell has to happen in Cleveland before “Frigid Derek” gets benched?

4. Matt Forte – Chicago – Were you one of the people that spent a high 1st round draft choice on this pooch?  I was!  1 game over 70 yards rushing this year on a pretty good offense has the Fantasy World wondering if Forte will ever het up.  Doesn’t look good does it?

5. Pierre Thomas  – New Orleans – Steadily falling out of favor in New Orleans with Mike Bell and even Reggie Bush seeing more time out of the backfield.  It has been a cloudy RB situation in New Orleans for a while and Thomas appears (after an 8 rush 30 yard performance) to be lost in the fog.  It seems that Thomas will lose touches going forward.

6. Tashard Choice – Dallas – What happened here?  Choice looked like the best of the 3 Running Backs in Dallas only 10 or so days ago.  Felix Jones and Marion Barber are healthy now and Tashard appears to be the odd man out.  1 catch was all that Choice managed on Sunday – Not Hot!!!

7. Terrell Owens – Buffalo – Poor, Poor TO.   Such a nice guy doesn’t deserve to be Not Hot.  I might as well call the NOT column the Terrell Owens column.

8. Roy Williams – Dallas – Had a lot to prove on Sunday but didn’t even come close to delivering.  Williams is the forgotten man in Dallas and figures to be looking for a job next season. Williams is a “Who Needs Ya” and is therefore Not Hot.

9. Braylon Edwards – NY Jets – After a stunning Jets debut, Braylon has cooled in a way that only he knows how.  The Jets were without Jerricho Cotchery and needed Edwards to step up in the last 2 games.  How does he reward the team – 4 catches for 44 yards in 2 games – brutal!!

10. Calvin Johnson – Detroit – Injured and not getting better.  Without Johnson, the Lions are a completely different team.  A top tier talent that just can’t get on the field is Not Hot!
