Week 7 NFL waiver wire plus fantasy football lineup tips to help decide who to start or bench on your fantasy football team…

NFL Week 7 Fantasy Football Tips – Waiver Wire Week 7

This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. Dave B scours the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best available talent every week. Availability, of course, depends on the league. We’re using 12 team, 15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes and sizes.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our cheatsheets, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Week 6 had its share of amazing offensive performances – where the hell were the Defenses? The Waiver Wire this week is littered with players that were starters at some point and for whatever reason, played themselves out of a job – they are proven talent who could really help a Fantasy Team.

With Baltimore, Denver, Detroit, Jacksonville, Seattle, and Tennessee on byes this week, the Waiver Wire will be heavily used – so pay attention

QB’s

Vince Young – Tennessee – The Kerry Collins era seems to be over in Tennessee and the heir apparent is Vince Young. He definantly has weapons and he could surprise.

Marc Bulger – St. Louis – Looked respectable on Sunday. He is a proven veteran who’s always an injury risk. But, if you are stuck with Jason Campbell or Jake Delhomme, take a shot.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo – A blessing in disguise, or a bad break? Trent Edwards was forced out of his Week 6 game with a concussion – Enter Ryan Fitzpatrick. Hey, he can’t be worse than Edwards, and he does have the weapons to be at least OK.

RB’s

Johnathan Stewart – Carolina – Finally healthy and contributing. Stewart is a home run hitter and a great change of pace back for Carolina. Once the Panthers reestablish their elite running game (and they will!!!!), Stewart will be a major factor.

Justin Fargas – Oakland – Another player that has not been healthy all year until now. With a sputtering (understatement!!!) Offense in Oakland, Fargas seems to be the ray of light that they need. Not saying that he’s gonna be a pro-bowler, but he’s certainly an upgrade over McFadden and Bush.

Laurence Maroney – New England – Took over after Sammy Morris left with an injury and showed flashes of what made him a Fantasy darling only a couple of years ago. He will undoubtedly be one on the most sought after free agents this week.

WR’s

Hakeem Nicks – NY Giants – 3 straight weeks with a td. This guy is quietly putting up decent numbers as proven by his 5 catch 114 yard, 1 td. effort win Week 6. Should be a hot name on the Waiver Wire this week.

Lance Moore – New Orleans – Rode the Brees (excuse the pun) on Sunday and re-emerged on the Fantasy radar. 6 catches for 78 yards and 1 td. make Moore look like a pretty good pick up – don’t you think?

Steve Breaston – Arizona – Quietly having a good season and although he’s the #3 option in Arizona, there is a lot of passing yards to go around. Sunday’s 7 catch 77 yard, 1td. performance shows the confidence that Kurt Warner has in him. Anquan Boldin sprained his ankle in the same game – if Boldin misses any time, Breaston is gold!

TE’s

Zach Miller – Oakland – The only real receiving threat for the Raiders and proved it with his 6 catch 139 yard 1 td. effort in Week 6. He is the only Raider worth owning and is bordering on every-week start status.

Jermichael Finley – Green Bay – has put together 2 solid weeks and has really gained the trust of Aaron Rogers. Pick up Finley, and I predict that he will be starting for you before too long.

Defenses

Green Bay – You pitch a shutout and you will be noticed Turnovers and sacks were there this past week and with a game against the woeful Cleveland Browns up next, the Packers will help any Fantasy team lucky enough to pick them up.

New England – Another team coming off a shutout and seemingly returning to form. Junior Seau’s addition will only help a squad in need of a stabilizing force. Tampa Bay is up next – nuff said.
