There were some incredible performances for Fantasy owners this week and they are highlighted in Dave B’s Week 5 Studs and Duds. Unfortunately for the Week 5 Duds, they are also forever immortalized.

Interesting to note that all three quarterback Studs and all three receiving Studs lost their games this weekend. Enjoy Dave B’s Week 5 Studs and Duds and be sure to leave a comment.

Studs of the Week:

Matt Forte – Chicago Bears – I can’t believe it! Matt Forte – Stud of the Week. It’s true though. 22 Carries for 166 and two huge touchdowns with another 22 yards receiving is definitely deserved of the honour.

Hakeem Nicks – NY Giants – If you own Nick, congratulations. He is and will be a huge part of the Giants going forward. Eli Manning loves him and so do we. He had 12 catches, 130 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday – truly dominant!

Other Studs:

QBs

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – Rivers had an enormous afternoon …again. 431 yards passing and two touchdowns on the way to another stunning loss.

Tony Romo – Dallas Cowboys – Another 400+ yards performance that came up short. Romo threw three touchdowns as well but his three interceptions turned out to be the difference in the game.

Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos – Kyle Orton just doesn’t slow down. Orton threw for 314 yards and another two interceptions on Sunday. Solid, consistent and Fantasy Gold = Stud.

RBs

Ray Rice – Baltimore Ravens – Ray Rice was a beast for the Ravens on Sunday. He rumbled for 133 yards and two touchdowns and added four catches for 26 yards. Rice stepped up and was the reason that his team beat the Broncos.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Welcome back Mr. Johnson – we’ve missed you. Johnson had 131 yards and two huge touchdowns to help the Titans upset the Cowboys.

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – Turner allowed his team to grind out a victory against Cleveland. Turner gained 140 yards on Sunday. A touchdown would have been nice but the way you played is definitely Studworthy.

WRs

Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos – He is the “Waiver Wire Find of the Year” so far – hands down. 135 more yards receiving and another two touchdowns on Sunday – Stud.

Malcolm Floyd – San Diego Chargers – Floyd hasn’t had that breakout game this season but that has changed. He had 213 yards receiving and a touchdown in a loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Miles Austin – Dallas Cowboys – Austin was on yet another Stud on a losing team. 166 yards on nine catches and a touchdown make him worthy of the Stud list.

Duds of the Week:

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – He was a consensus Top 10 play this week and all he could muster was 25 yards rushing and two yards receiving. Maybe Coach Kubiak should bench him for the first quarter of every game!

Anquan Boldin – Baltimore Ravens – Boldin wasn’t projected to have enormous numbers this week, but one catch for eight yards – BRUTAL!

Other Duds:

QBs

Matt Schaub – Houston Texans – Schaub hasn’t really been that impressive at all this year and now the Texans chance to build a lead in the AFC South is gone. Schaub had 196 yards passing, no touchdowns and one interception – not acceptable!

Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – Sorry Peyton but when you don’t deliver the goods, you make the Duds list. Even though you passed for 244 yards, you didn’t throw a touchdown. I’m maybe a tad hard on you but in my books, you delivered a Dud.

Bears QBs – Not much was expected but 51 yards passing? Todd Collins and Chris Hainie – you suck!

RBs

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – Williams is the best player on the Panthers roster – bar none! That’s why 51 yards rushing is a Dud performance. With continued Duds, the Panthers will remain winless.

Beanie Wells – Arizona Cardinals – Wells is healthy again and it really looked as if he was going to finally break out this week. He got 20 touches, but only gained 35 yards with those opportunities – Dud.

Broncos RBs – Again – not much was expected but 39 yards rushing? BRING BACK TERRELL DAVIS!

WRs

Greg Jennings – Green Bay Packers – Jennings keeps sneaking into most people’s Top 10 plays. I can’t figure out why! I own him in my Fantasy league and his Dud-dom is killing me.

Chad Ochocinco – Cincinnati Bengals – The Ocho Meltdown Countdown is officially on. In a game that Terrell Owens ripped it up again, Chad only managed three catches for 20 yards.

Thanks Kyle – I guess I was in denial after Orton sunk me in my Fantasy league this week! Thanks for the correction!
