HOT AND NOT WEEK 14

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Week 13 – done!!! The Fantasy playoffs are in full swing in the upcoming week. Time to analyze who you can depend on and those who you can’t in order to win your Fantasy title. The HOT are players that are have been ripping up the NFL and should continue to do so, while the NOT are players that should be having more success and for some reason, are not.

Dave B’s HOT and NOT lists are based on past performances and future matchups. They take into account team trends and player’s supporting casts.

I hope that you have some HOT players on your Fantasy team and have been able to steer clear of the NOTs. Good Luck in your Fantasy playoffs and enjoy Dave B’s Week 13 edition of HOT and NOT.

HOT

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay – Craved up a pretty good Baltimore Defense in Week 13. Rodgers can seem to do no wrong right now and is well on his way to becoming the most prolific Fantasy scorer in the 2009-2010 season.

Drew Brees – New Orleans – Has passed for 790 yards in the past 2 games!!!! Nuts. Oh ya, he’s thrown 7 tds. in those games. The dude is HOT as hell.

Philip Rivers – San Diego – Rivers has his team on quite a role right now. He has averaged 345 yards and 2 touchdowns in his last 2 games. The Chargers are gonna score a lot of points and Rivers will continue to be HOT.

Tony Romo – Dallas – I was down on Romo earlier on in the season but he’s certainly HOT now. Romo has been over 300 yards passing in his last 2 starts and has tossed 5 tds. during that span. With 2 certain shootouts against San Diego and New Orleans should continue his great performances.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee – His worst game in a LONG time happened in Week 13. Still, Johnson rushed for 113 yards. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Johnson still has 6 games over 130 yards this year and with games against ST. Louis and Miami on the slate, you can bet that he’ll build on those totals.

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati – He’s back!!! Week 13’s 36 rushes is proof that the workhorse is ready to assume ALL of the Cincinnati rushing duties. He’s gonna gets his yards and he’s gonna get his scores – guaranteed!

Thomas Jones – NY Jets – Let’s face it folks, the Jets are a running team. Jones has not had less than 21 carries since Week 5. He’s a workhorse and with games against Tampa Bay and Atlanta coming up, Jones is HOT.

Anquan Boldin – Arizona – Last week’s game was a blip. After all, Matt Leinart started at QB Outside of that game, Boldin has averaged over 100 yards receiving and has scored 3 times. He’ definitely HOT

Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona – Let’s give him a Week 12 mulligan too. Take out the Week 12 game and Fitz. has scored 5 tds. in his last 4 games. Dude is on fire and proving that he is the best Receiver in the NFL.

Wes Welker -New England – Another player that has a BAD last week. Minus that game , Welker has averaged 10.5 catches per game. Incredible numbers for an incredible weapon.

Antonio Gates – San Diego – The San Diego coaching staff finally GET IT. Throw the ball to Gates!! Good things happen when Gates is HOT.

Jason Witten – Dallas – I bashed this guy a bit earlier in the season, but he has truly woken up. Witten had 14 catches in Week 13!!! Crazy. He has also been over 100 yards in his last 2 games. He’s heating up folks – its about time!

NOT

Jay Cutler – Chicago – His best outing in his last 3 games is a 171 yard 1 td. effort in Week 11. The passing game is in shambles right now and there doesn’t seem to be a remedy for their funk. The stout Defenses of Green Bay and Baltimore are up next for the Bears so it’s a good bet that Cutler will remain NOT HOT.

Carson Palmer – Cincinnati – Palmer is due for a big game don’t you think? In his last 4 games, he has thrown only 2 tds. while throwing 3 interceptions over that span. He has not passed for more than 220 yards in those 4 games. Although the Bengals are playing good ball, Palmer doesn’t seem to be the reason for their success.

Matt Hasselbeck – Seattle – Threw his first 2 tds. in his last 3 games on Sunday, but failed to reach 200 yards for the 2nd straight game. Hasselbeck is the victim of poor offensive line play, and can’t seem to get it going in any game. Seattle sucks and so does Hasselbeck right now.

Frank Gore – San Francisco – Not getting the yardage at all in the last 3 games, but he’s not getting the rushing attempts either. Gore is averaging just over 10 attempts per game in his last 3 – a far cry from his usual 20 touches per game. He is averaging just 39 yards in those 3 games. The 49ers seem to be more of a passing team than they’ve been in a while, rendering Frank Gore NOT HOT,

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville – Believe it or not folks, MJD hasn’t rushed for more than 76 yards in his last 3 games against some pretty bad Defenses (Buffalo, San Francisco and Houston). He aint ripping it up like we are used to – not at all. Jones-Drew is NOT HOT.

Marion Barber – Dallas – Barber has not scored a td. since Week 8!! He also hasn’t been over 61 yards in the last 2 weeks. Barber was supposes to be an elite Fantasy Back this year and is clearly NOT.

Reggie Bush – New Orleans – Just when you think that Bush is gonna turn the corner and establish himself as a viable Fantasy talent, he either gets injured or he puts up a game like he did in Week 13. Although he had 4 catches for a disappointing 28 yards, he somehow manage 0 rushing yards. He’s brutal, and clearly a waste of a 1st round pick.

Reggie Wayne – Indianapolis – 7 catches and 67 yards combined in his last 2 games. It won’t last, but right now, Wayne is certainly NOT HOT.

Vincent Jackson – San Diego -Jackson was on his way to being a top 5 Fantasy Wideout. What the hell happened? 9 catches in his last 4 games – that’s it!!!! Jackson is Ice Cold right now – no doubt about it.

TJ Houshmandzadeh – Seattle – Has anyone seen the real Housh? In his last 3 games, he has not gone over 37 yards receiving. You can see it on his face that TJ is NOT HOT.

Ted Ginn Jr. – Miami – Ginn entered the season as the favorite to be THE MAN in the receiving corp. Instead, he is 2nd in the league in drops (behind Braylon Edwards I’m sure) and has been over 35 yards receiving twice all year. Ginn is ice cold.

One reply on “HOT + NOT For Week 14 Fantasy Football”

How about Steven Jackson of the Rams and Chris Johnson of the Titans in the same game this week. Both teams will certainly look to keep the ball on the ground so the yards should add up fast for both these guys.
