FANTASY FOOTBALLERS!! LOOKING TO BET ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL? Click Here!

What an insane week it was. Week 14 is going to offer us two Monday night games this week – they Biggest dud may well be Mother Nature! There were some great performances this week and some dreadful ones as well. The funny thing is that Studs continue to be Studs, no matter the elements while Duds don’t care if it is sunny, windy or rainy – they will find a way to be Duds!

Enjoy Dave B’s Week 14 edition of Studs and Duds and by all means, leave a comment if I left someone out!

Studs of the Week:

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – How many of you benched Brady when they saw the weather report? I did! 369 yards and two touchdowns against a tough Bears defense and in brutal conditions makes Brady an absolute Stud.

Darren McFadden – Oakland Raiders – McFadden was a beast on Sunday. He ran 16 times for 123 yards and a touchdown while adding 86 yards and a touchdown through the air. 209 combined yards and three scores make him Co-Stud of the Week

Other Studs:

QBs

Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – There is not much talk about Manning’s slump now. On Thursday night, he went 25-35 for 319 yards and two touchdowns on National television.

Jason Campbell – Oakland Raiders – The winner of the “Most Unlikely Stud of the Week” award – Jason Campbell who threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday.

Michael Vick – Philadelphia Eagles – Vick was swarmed all night long against Dallas but still managed three total touchdowns. He passed for 270 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 16 yards and a touchdown as well.

RBs

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – Turner keeps getting it done and just missed out on Stud of the Week Honours. He ran the ball 28 times for 112 yards and three touchdowns in Atlanta’s destruction of Carolina.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson was another player that shook his slump on Thursday night. He ran the ball 22 times for 111 yards and a touchdown while adding eight catches for 86 yards in a loss to Indianapolis of Thursday night.

Tim Hightower – Arizona Cardinals – See ya later Beanie Wells! Hightower cemented himself as the unquestioned #1 running back for the Cards with 18 carries, 148 yards and two touchdowns.

Honourable Mention: Ryan Torain – Washington Redskins, Jonathan Stewart – Carolina Panthers, Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars, LeSean McCoy – Philadelphia Eagles

WRs

Pierre Garcon – Indianapolis Colts – Peyton Manning finally had a good game and made Pierre Garcon look like a Pro Bowler. Garcon caught 6 passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns on Thursday night – Stud!

Deion Branch – New England Patriots – Branch had an enormous game in some miserable conditions. Eight catches for 151 yards and a touchdown in a blizzard is certainly a Stud performance.

DeSean Jackson – Philadelphia Eagles – Jackson stepped up and put a damper on what looked like a comeback by the Cowboys. His 91 yard touchdown in the 4th quarter cemented his Stud status. In the end, Jackson caught 4 passes for a staggering 201 yards and a touchdown.

Honourable Mention: Wes Welker – New England Patriots, Hines Ward – Pittsburgh Steelers

Duds of the Week:

Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos – What the hell happened to Kyle Orton? He was a sure fire starter only a couple of weeks ago but performances like the one on Sunday has him looking more like a Dud. 19 receptions on 41 attempts for 166 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions are as Dudly as one can get.

Jamaal Charles – Kansas City Chiefs – Charles just signed a huge contact extension and with Matt Cassel being out this week, one would have thought that Charles was a Top 5 play. Nope! He ran for 40 yards on the day and is an unlikely Dud of the Week.

Other Duds:

QBs

Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears – We would have forgiven Cutler and kept him off the list if his counterpart didn’t rip it up. Cutler only passed for 152 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions on the day – Dud!

Mark Sanchez – New York Jets – Sanchez was missing his receivers all day long and when he was hitting them, the receivers were dropping the ball.  The result – 17 completions on 44, yes 44 attempts for 216 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.

Chad Henne – Miami Dolphins – Not that you would have started Henne but it is worth noting that he threw for 55 yards – AND HE PLAYED THE WHOLE GAME! Henne did throw a touchdown but still delivered a total Dud.

RBs

LaDainian Tomlinson – New York Jets – That makes five games and counting since LT rushed for over 50 yards. On Sunday, in a game in which his team could have used a little running support. LT gained only 49 yards on 19 carries.

Matt Forte – Chicago Bears – Forte should have been heavily featured on Sunday but was only able to run for 25 yards. He did gain 36 yards through the air but his overall game was still a Dud.

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati Bengals – Benson’s game has been off all season and I guess we shouldn’t have expected much against the Steelers. 19 yards rushing though? Dud!

WRs

Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs – I know that Bordie Croyle didn’t help him out all that much but in a game that the Chiefs were trailing throughout, Bowe should have gotten more than one catch for three whopping yards!

Terrell Owens – Cincinnati Bengals – Paging Terrell Owens! After starting the season strong, TO has really tailed off. Need proof? How about a Dud-like one catch, 22 yards performance! I’d like to say that I feel sorry for Mr. Owens, but I don’t!

Jeremy Maclin – Philadelphia Eagles – Thanks for coming out and contributing 1 catch for 11 yards Jeremy!

Honourable Mention: Braylon Edwards – NY Jets, Donald Driver – Green Bay Packers, Mike Williams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Steve Johnson – Buffalo Bills, Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos, Miles Austin – Dallas Cowboys

Hmmm…Check the tape…I think Garcon made Manning look like a Pro-Bowler on Thursday…and not the other way around.
