Fantasy Football: Week 13 Waiver Wire

Week 13 NFL waiver wire plus fantasy football lineup tips to help decide who to start or bench on your fantasy football team…

Week 13 Waiver Wire

For some of you it is the first week of your fantasy playoffs. For others, the regular season is coming to an end. It is time to bolster your lineups folks – time to build on what you already have.

Below is a list of some of the more intriguing players likely available on your Waiver Wires. Take a look and good pickin’!

QBs

Rex Grossman – Washington Redskins – Grossman turned in his second consecutive solid outing in Week 12. He completed 26 of 35 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. With Santana Moss back in the fold and Roy Helu picking up steam, Grossman could be an OK play the rest of the way. He does have the Jets next week however.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills – Fitzpatrick returned to form after two months of below average ball. His 264 yards passing and three touchdowns against the vaunted Jets pass defense could be a sign that he has finally broken his slump.

Matt Moore – Miami Dolphins – Moore has thrown four touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last two games and has seven touchdowns with 1 interception in his last four. He has Oakland in Week 13 – a team that looked Caleb Hanie look pretty good!

Caleb Hanie – Chicago Bears – Hanie actually looked OK for the Bears against Oakland. He completed 18-35 passes for 254 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on the day. Once he realizes that Matt Forte is a superb receiver, Hanie’s numbers could improve.

Others to Monitor: YJ Yates, Kyle Orton

RBs

Peyton Hillis – Cleveland Browns – How many of you dropped Hillis after he sat out the majority of the season? Well, it may be time to pick him up again. On Sunday, Hillis returned to the Browns lineup and had 21 touches for 61 yards – not great but not horrible for his first game in nearly two months!

Donald Brown – Indianapolis Colts – Even though Joseph Addai returned to the lineup in Week 12, Brown was the feature back. He had 80 yards rushing and a touchdown on 14 carries and caught one ball for 14 yards. Brown appears to have won the feature back role for Indianapolis and could pay dividends as the season wears down.

Maurice Morris – Detroit Lions – Maurice Morris was benched for Kevin Smith heading into the Lions’ Thanksgiving Day game vs. the Packers, but a leg injury to Smith forced Morris back into action — and he came through. Morris had 39 yards on seven carries and led the Lions with 81 yards on nine catches. Morris will be the man for Detroit as long as Kevin Smith is sidelined. [ad-8469823]

WRs

Johnny Knox – Chicago Bears – New QB Caleb Hanie obviously lives this guy – I hope Bears coaches get the picture! Knox caught 4 balls for 145 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 and could be prime for a very good stretch run with Hanie at the helm.

Jason Avant – Philadelphia Eagles – Jeremy Maclin is banged up and DeSean Jackson can’t catch. Enter Jason Avant who had 8 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. If Maclin is out in Week 13, Avant becomes very attractive.

Others to Monitor: Jordan Norwood – Cleveland Browns, James Jones –Green Bay Packers, Lavelle Hawkins – Tennessee Titans, Doug Baldwin – Seattle Seahawks

TEs

Jermaine Gresham – Cincinnati Bengals – Gresham is a Stud. He led his team in targets (9) and he caught five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. He and Keller may be the most valuable TEs on the Waiver Wire this week!

Scott Chandler – Buffalo Bills – With Donald Jones done for the year, Chandler figures to be a bigger part of the passing game in Buffalo. Need proof? In Week 12 he caught 6 passes for 50 yards on Sunday – not great but not bad.

Dustin Keller – NY Jets – Keller was a monster on Sunday and clearly has the trust of his QB. On Sunday, Keller caught 4 balls for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Not many Stud Tight Ends did that!

Others to monitor – Jared Cook

Defense

Denver Broncos – This unit has been playing well – sacks, takeaways and the fact that his offense is keeping the ball for 2/3 of the game! Denver has the Vikings up next – Adrian Peterson is unlikely to play and then Chicago and Caleb Hanie.
