HOT + NOT For Week 11 Fantasy Football

Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our Dave B our fantasy expert weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics for Week 11 action…

HOT AND NOT WEEK 11

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Another week has passed in the NFL and the HOT list is one that mirrors ones from past weeks while the NOT list featured players that really should be on the HOT list. It is interesting, but not a coincidence that 4 of the 12 HOT players thrived in the same game, and that 2 of the others on the HOT list are on the same team.

It appears that young players are gracing the NOT list – they should be the ones that are warming up right now and competing for league-wide praise and playing time.

Keep in mind that the HOT and NOT lists are generated by examining trends over the past few games and don’t take into account 1 game wonders (Beanie Wells).

So here then is Week 10’s edition of Dave B’s HOT and NOT lists.

HOT

1. Peyton Manning – Indianapolis -What a game on Sunday night!!! Manning continued his Hot streak, passing for over 300 yards for the 8th time in his 9 games this season. Even in the lone game he didn’t throw for over 300 yards, he managed 3 tds. He’s your MVP folks, make no mistake about it!!

2. Tom Brady – New England – Has 4 straight 300 yard games and has tossed an incredible 13 tds. over that span. Brady can seem to do no wrong except for completing a 2 yard pass when a game is on the line. Sorry for the cheap shot Tom – I know it wasn’t your fault.

3. Brett Favre – Minnesota – Favre has been magical this year and a 344 yard,1 td. effort following up a 244 yard, 4 td. performance lands Brett in the HOT column. He’s got games against Seattle and Chicago coming up, so he should remain scorching.

4. Kurt Warner – Arizona – Has thrown 9 touchdowns in his last 3 games and appears to be in total command when he is on the field. Warner has games against St. Louis and Tennessee coming up – it’s safe to say that Warner shouldn’t cool down anytime soon.

5. Chris Johnson – Tennessee – Has there ever been a HOTTER Fantasy player in the NFL? Johnson has scored 2 rushing tds. in the last 3 GAMES!! And he hasn’t been below 125 yards rushing in the last 4. Add in the insane receiving numbers and you have one Smokin HOT Chris Johnson.

6. Steven Jackson – St. Louis – An absolute Stud of a football player, Jackson has been on quite a run. 3 straight games over 130 yards rushing combined with very healthy receiving numbers keep Jackson entrenched on my HOT list.

7. Maurice Jones-Drew – Has scored 7 tds. In his last 4 games! Nuts!!! Jones-Drew has also averaged 133 yards rushing in those 4. What the hell is he gonna do against Buffalo in Week 11?

8. Adrian Peterson – Minnesota – All Day has been getting it done and after a rough patch by his standards, is producing like the Stud we all know his is. 4 tds. in 3 games and there are no signs of him slowing down (games against Seattle and Chicago). Peterson is HOT.

9. Randy Moss – New England – In his last 2 games Moss has a combined 15 catches, 326 yards and 3 tds. Ya – I’d say that somewhat Hot.

10. Brandon Marshall – Denver – Marshall has 2 straight games of at least 110 yards and in Week 10, he scored 2 times. I don’t know if he’ll stay HOT with the injury to Kyle Orton, but right now, he’s playing Pro-Bowl caliber ball.

11. Reggie Wayne – Indianapolis – If you ignore the Week 2 game against Miami, Wayne has caught at least 6 passes in every other game. He’s been over 125 yards in 4 of 9 games this season and has scored 8 tds. all year. Wayne is a HUGE part of an amazing offence and is as Hot as they come right now.

12. Sidney Rice – Minnesota – He’s not scoring touchdowns, but Rice is certainly piling up the yards!! 176 yards in Week 6, 136 yards in Week 7, only 40 in Week 8, and 201 yards in Week 10 – one can only conclude that Rice belongs on the HOT list.

NOT

1. Jamarcus Russell – Oakland – Got benched this week and he doesn’t understand why. I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell’s mom phoned the coach and reamed him out. He’s simply terrible.

2. Joe Flacco – Baltimore – 2nd year Stud has been ice cold of late. He has not reached the 200 yard passing mark in his last 3 games and has failed to throw a td. in 2 of those games. Although Flacco doesn’t need to throw a lot with Ray Rice running the ball, he is, for Fantasy purposes, NOT HOT.

3. Matt Ryan – Atlanta – Another Super Sophomore who has been struggling of late. In Atlanta’s last 3 games, Ryan has thrown for 3 tds. while tossing 6 interceptions. Accuracy is definitely an issue, and a once heralded QB appears to be taking a step backward.

4. Marion Barber – Dallas – Was to be the unquestioned feature back in what was supposed to be a run heavy offense. Instead, Barber has suffered from injuries and overall ineffectiveness. Its hard to believe that Barber has been at or under 53 yards rushing in 7 of Dallas’ 9 games. Barber has all the makings of a Bust, but for right now we’ll call him NOT HOT.

5. Pierre Thomas -New Orleans – Will the real Pierre Thomas show up at the game this weekend? The workhorse out of the New Orleans backfield has topped 50 yards just once in his last 2 games despite getting a healthy amount of touches. Reggie Bush appears to be getting more love from the Saints coaching staff right now, making Thomas even colder than he might already have been.

6. Marshawn Lynch – Buffalo – Best game of the year so far was in Week 5 against a terrible Cleveland team. His #’s – 17 rushes for 69 yards. In Lynch’s last 3 games, he hasn’t been close to 50 yards and has only scored once. Brutal output for a dude that should have been carrying his team.

7. Kevin Smith – Detroit – One of the super sexy sleeper picks before the season, Smith has done nothing but disappoint. He has not scored since Week 4 and has not topped 67 yards rushing during that span. He’s averaging almost 17 rushing attempts per game but is doing absolutely nothing with them. Smith is clearly NOT HOT.

8. Marques Colston – New Orleans – Has 3 catches in his last 2 games – really??? In those 2 games his combined yardage is 63. For such a potent, talented weapon, Colston is proving that he is NOT HOT.

9. Santana Moss – Washington – Santana, Santana. You are supposed to be a #1 Wide Receiver – did you not get the memo? Moss hasn’t scored in his last 5 games and has gone over 50 yards just once over that span. I hope that you didn’t spend a high draft choice on him!!!

10 Torry Holt – Jacksonville – Was brought in this year to be the stabilizing force in a very young receiving corp but has not developed a chemistry with David Gerrard AT ALL. He has not seen the end zone yet this year and in his last 3 games is averaging under 3 catches and 26 yards. Holt is Ice Cold indeed.

11. Eddie Royal – Denver – All the talent and optimism in the world coming into this year, Royal has failed to live up to ANY of the hype. In 7 of his 9 games this year, Royal has not surpassed 3 catches, and in 6 of those games, he has been held to under 21 yards. Ya – I’d say that’s NOT HOT.
