Week 11 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire

Week 11 NFL waiver wire plus fantasy football lineup tips to help decide who to start or bench on your fantasy football team…

WAIVER WIRE WEEK 11

This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. Dave B scours the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best available talent every week. Availability, of course, depends on the league. We’re using 12 team, 15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes and sizes.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our cheatsheets, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

QB’S

Marc Bulger – St. Louis – If you are one of those dude that is waiting for Kyle Orton or David Gerrard to become you reliable every Week starter, take a look a Marc Bulger who is HEALTHY (hard to believe) and looking pretty good right now. Week 10’s 298 yards and 2 tds. against a tough New Orleans Defense is proof that Bulger could be rounding back into form. Just sayin……

Josh Freeman – Tampa Bay – Has his team actually playing decent football. Freeman won’t win you many weeks, but 200 yards passing is passable. Add in Freeman’s ability to run with the ball, and he could be a decent Fantasy option.

RB’S

Ladell Betts – Washington – If he is still on your waiver wire, grab him now. It looks like Clinton Portis will be out for a while and in relief of Portis, all Betts did was gain 114 yards on 26 carries while adding 1 td. Betts will see MOST of the carries in Washington and 100 yards rushing every week is not unreasonable.

Chris Snelling – Atlanta – Michael Turner left Sunday’s game and the Stadium in a walking boot. If he is forced to miss any time, Snelling become Fantasy relevant immediately. Running behind that incredible O-line means plenty of opportunity for anyone rushing the ball for Atlanta.

Justin Forsett – Seattle – It was only a matter of time before Jim Mora and his Seattle coaching staff went a different direction with their non-existent running game. They cut Edgerrin James and appear to be phasing out Julius Jones. Enter Justin Forsett who gained 123 yards rushing and another 26 receiving, adding 1 td. The Seahawks have been lacking a true threat at Running Back, and maybe Forsett can be that guy.

Other to Monitor – Bernard Scott – Cincinnati : Larry Johnson – Bengals : Louis Rankin – Seahawks (PPR Leagues)

WR’S

Jason Avant – Philadelphia – 8 catches for 156 yards in Week 10!!! Likely a boom or bust player with Maclin and Jackson in town, but still worth having stashed away.

Muhsin Muhammad – Carolina – Jake Delhomme seems to be playing better right now and with Steve Smith banged up this week, Muhammad stands to get the majority of the looks going forward.Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

Donnie Avery – St. Louis – One of those guys that was drafted in the summer but was dropped because of a lack of production. Avery’s 4 catch, 67 yard, 2 td. effort in Week 10 puts him back on the Fantasy radar for sure.

Lee Evans – Buffalo – Has tallied 4 touchdowns in his last 4 games. Evans seems to finally be benefitting from the extra attention paid to Terrell Owens and is getting open when it matters. He could turn out to be a valuable WR3 or 4 at worst.

Others to Monitor: Brandon Gibson – St. Louis : Laverneus Coles – Cincinnati : Robert Meachem – New Orleans

TE’S

Fred Davis – Washington – Washington may have finally got some of their mojo back. They are a team that uses their Tight End a lot and with Chris Cooley weeks away from return, Davis could provide decent numbers in the next few weeks at least.

Mercedes Lewis – Jacksonville – Pre-season sleeper that has his ups and downs all season. This uber-talented Tight End could erupt at any time – predicting just when is the challenge however.

DEFENSE

Green Bay Packers – They’re Back!!! The Packers dominated a red hot Dallas Offense in Week 10 and a once heralded unit is back on the Fantasy Radar. If you dropped them, pick them up again and start them against the 49ers, Lions, Ravens, and Bears.

Tennessee Titans – A top 5 unit at the start of the season, the Titans Defense, like the whole team was playing lousy football. In the last few weeks, they have hit stride are playing like Defense worthy of 2nd tier status. If you are stuck, take a look at the Titans – the pedigree is there.
