Another week of the NFL schedule is almost over and again, we saw our fair share of Studs and Duds. There were some surprisingly high scoring games that provided some unexpected Studs and there were some inexplicably low scoring games that gave us some Duds. Apologies to Brett Favre, Brady Quinn, Tom Brady, Steven Jackson, Mario Manningham, Mohamed Massaquoi, Derrick Mason, Greg Jennings and Anquan Boldin for not making the Studs list this Week – my goal is not to diminish your superb performances.

Here then is Dave B’s Week 11 Studs and Duds.

STUDS

Matthew Stafford – Detroit – Seriously I know that my professional reputation may be questioned after this call, but the numbers don’t lie. 26/43 for 422 yards and 5 tds. is absolutely insane! Stafford was light out in Week 11 and coincidentally he got his lights knocked out late in the game. Enjoy your short reign as Stud of the Week Matt – we might see you here in a few years but not anytime soon.

Roy Williams – Dallas – He’s baaack – not to fantasy prominence, but to the Dud category, After a good outing last week, Williams seemed prime for a bit of a comeback – startworthy in many people’s eyes. How does he respond – they way only he knows how – a goose-egg. BRUTAL!!

Eli Manning – NY Giants – The bye week was an absolute God-send for the Giants and its obvious that nobody benefitted more that Eli. He passed for 384 yards and 3 touchdowns in Week 10 and is once again where he belongs – on Dave B’s Stud list.

Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh – This guy just doesn’t seem to be slowing down. 398 yards passing a 3 tds. keeps Big Ben in the MVP race and has him Stud – like once again.

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay – Most people’s Fantasy MVP so far this year, Rodgers eclipsed the 300 yard mark once again while throwing 2 more tds. Rodgers is proving to be an every-week Stud.

Ricky Williams – Miami – Dominated the Thursday night game with 2 tds. rushing and another one receiving. His 138 total yards will make people forget about Ronnie Brown in a hurry.

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina – The other Thursday Night Stud, Williams managed 122 yards rushing on a bad leg that threatened to keep him out. 131 total yards on a gimpy leg definitely makes DeAngelo a Stud.

Ryan Grant – Green Bay – Grant is starting to come around at the right time for the Packers. He has had a few good outings in a row and as the weather gets colder, he will be called upon more and more. A Week 11 total of 129 yards rushing and 1 td. is exactly what the Packers need from their #1 RB.

There’ll Owens – Buffalo – It had to happen sometime didn’t it? Owens went off in Week 11 to the tune of 197 yards and 1 td. including a 98 yard touchdown pass. We all knew that TO had Stud potential – he’s just been playing like a Dud all year (until now).

Wes Welker – New England – 15 catches!!! Unreal. 192 yards!!! Unreal. This dude defines Stud!

Sidney Rice – Minnesota – Simply unstoppable right now, Rice racked up 2 tds. on his 6 catches for 89 yards. Rice is a bonafide weapon folks and a legitimate Stud.

Calvin Johnson – Detroit – Where have you been Calvin? Megatron delivered a true Stud performance in Week 11 with 7 catches for 161 yards and a td. Johnson, with his ability should be here every week – who knows we might see him here from now on.

Hines Ward – Pittsburgh – Smile Hines, you are on Dave B’s Week 11 Stud list. 10 catches, 128 yards and 1 td. – ya, you belong here.

Kevin Boss – NY Giants – It’s obvious that when Eli Manning is going well, he uses his Tight End. Boss’s 5 catch, 76 yards and 2 td. effort is proof. If you score twice, you are a Stud, plain and simple.

DUDS

Tony Romo -Dallas – Ugh!! Brutal game for the Dallas QB. Romo managed 158 yards passing (60 of those came on his final drive) with only 1 td. and 1 interception. It was all that Dallas needed for the win, but for Fantasy purposes, Romo was a Week 11 Dud.

Jay Cutler – Chicago – This team is clearly out of sync and Cutler has a lot to do with it. He threw 43 passes in Week 11 and gained only 171 yards with 1 td. and 1 interception. He’s a total Dud right now and he’s making everyone else on his team Duds too (Matt Forte and Devin Hester).

Mark Sanchez – NY Jets – The learning curve for rookie Mark Sanchez has been a steep one indeed. Sanchez came up against a hungry Bill Belichek team that allowed him only 136 yards passing with 1 touchdown and 4 huge interceptions. Nobody expected a monster game, but few expected the Dud that we witnessed.

Carnell Williams – Tampa Bay – Cadillac seems to be running in sand right now and after a good start to the season, there was optimism that he could keep it going. Week 11’s 32 yards on 11 carries is Dudworthy for a feature back on any NFL team.

Matt Forte – Chicago – Oficially Dud of the Year!!

Giants RBS – At least the bye week helped the passing game because it sure didn’t help the running game. Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw combined for 24 rushes for 73 yards on the day – against a team that has been shredded by RBS all year. Disappointing indeed.

Bills RBS – The Bills have talent at RB, but they can’t seem to get them going right now. Marshawn Lynch (who left with an injury) and Fred Jackson gained only 53 yards on 17 carries against the Jaguars in Week 11 – a Dud effort by 2 emerging every week Duds.

TJ Houshmandzadeh – Seattle – A disappointing season continues for TJ. For a team to be trailing the WHOLE GAME and only get their #1 Receiver the ball 4 times for 36 yards is just embarrassing. Expectations were high this week for TJ – the result was a thud!

Braylon Edwards – Buffalo – 1 catch – – 1!!! All you could muster was 10 yards from that 1 catch. It’s nice to see you in the Dud column again Braylon.

Lee Evans – Buffalo – 1 catch for 15 yards in a game that your QB throws for 300? Evans is an enigma right now – Stud one week, dud the other. Unfortunately – in Week 11, Braylon was a total Dud.

Brandon Marshall – Denver – Oh boy!! Consensus Top 10 WR this week managed just 3 catches for 26 yards. It’s safe to say that if Brandon has a good game, the Broncos do well. This week Brandon didn’t do well and the Denver team was horrible.

Santana Moss – Washington – He’s just horrible.

John Carlson – Seattle – A goose-egg for the super talented Seattle Tight End. Why don’t they throw to him anymore?
