Hot

QBs

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – Newton has been incredible this season and after 1 week off the Hot list, he’s back. Newton threw for a career high three touchdowns on 290 yards while running for another 53 yards. Newton now has an astonishing 7 rushing touchdowns on the season and is dependable as any QB in the NFL right now.

Eli Manning – New York Giants – Manning averaged 345.5 yards in four October contests and topped 300 in all but one. He had 349 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions on Sunday to continue his HOT play. Manning has also avoided mistakes and has not thrown an interception in four of his last five games.

Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers – Big Ben has averaged 363 yards passing in his last two starts while combining for five touchdowns and only one interception over that span. Roethlisberger is completely in control of his offense and has one of the most complete receiving corps. in the game right now.

RBs

Fred Jackson – Buffalo Bills – Jackson is simply the best RB in the game right now. He had his third straight 100+ yard rushing game on Sunday and has five on the season along with six touchdowns. He has 721 yards rushing already along with 215 yards receiving so far and eight total touchdowns – ya he’s Hot!

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – With 134 yards rushing on Sunday, Gore went over the 125-yard mark and registered a rushing touchdown for the fourth straight game. In those games he has 527 rushing yards – Hot.

Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings – Peterson rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries on Sunday, and he also recorded five catches for a career-best 76 yards, including a 19-yard TD in the second quarter. He has seven total touchdowns in the last four weeks and has become a receiving threat as well as an insanely talented rushing threat! AP is smokin’ HOT.

WRs

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – With 125 yards receiving on Sunday, Johnson reached 100 receiving yards for the fourth consecutive game and fifth overall of the season. He leads the NFL with his impressive 11 touchdown and is as Hot as they come in Fantasy. [ad-8469823]

Steve Smith – Carolina Panthers – The only thing that can cool Smith off is this week’s bye. Smith had his fifth 100+ yards game. Smith leads the NFL with 918 yards and has been a fixture on the Hot list this season.

Not Hot

QBs

Alex Smith – San Francisco 49ers – Smith’s team is Hot but for Fantasy purposes, Smith is NOT. Smith has averaged just 181 yards per game passing so far this season. In his last three games he has failed to eclipse 177 yards and in his last two games he has a total of two touchdown passes.

Matt Hasselbeck – Tennessee Titans – After a Hot start, Hasselbeck has gone cold. In his last three games he has thrown just one touchdown in each. Against Houston, Matt had just 104 yards passing and against a brutal Indianapolis defense, Hasselbeck managed just 224 yards.

RBs

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – CJ2K has, get this, 302 yards rushing so far this season and is averaging 2.8 yards per carry. He has one lousy touchdown on the season and is quickly losing touches to the unheralded Javon Ringer. Johnson is brutal and is certainly Not Hot!

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – For the fifth time this season, RB DeAngelo Williams failed to muster as many as 40 all-purpose yards, as the Panthers fell to the Vikings, 24-21, in Week 8. Williams ran the ball just seven times for 26 yards, and he gained an additional 13 yards on a pair of catches. Williams has amassed only 105 rushing yards over his last three games combined.

Ryan Torain – Washington Redskins – Torain had a real shot to take over the Washington backfield but failed miserable – just 20 combined yards on Sunday. With Roy Helu lurking and with the newly acquired Tashard Choice threatening his touches, Torain is Not Hot!

WRs

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – What have you done with Wes Welker? After ripping up the league for the first five games, Welker has generated just 84 combined yards in his last two games. I can’t see it lasting long but for right now, Welker is Not Hot.

Miles Austin – Dallas Cowboys – Austin has caught just five passes for 43 yards over his last two games and has not found the end zone since Week 2. Austin is inexplicably Not Hot!

Vernon Davis – Washington Redskins – Davis started well this season but has suddenly gone Not Hot. He has just eight receptions for 74 yards over his last three games and is a deserving member of the Not Hot list.

Calvin Johnson is still the hottest WR in FF. Reason he’s on the HOT list this week. Your correct, he’s on a bye, doesn’t mean he gets left off the list.
