Week 7 is almost here and the passing of Week 6 was merciful in terms of fantasy production. Week 6 saw some Hot players come back down to earth and some Not Hot players finally emerge (although not enough to be called HOT).

Week 7 brings us a number of important byes – let’s hope some of the Hot players on byes don’t cool down and that some of the Not Hot players use the bye to heat up once again!

Enjoy Dave B’s Week 7 Hot and Not list and be sure to leave a message to tell me what you think!

Hot

QBs

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – Rodgers is insane. On Sunday he threw for over 300 yards again and threw three touchdowns again. He now has 17 tds. through the air and three on the ground this season and has an insane 122.5 passer rating. The next closest rated passer is Tom Brady who is barely over 100.

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees became the first quarterback to top 350 in four consecutive games on Sunday although he also had three interceptions in a 26-20 loss in Tampa Bay on Sunday. He has also completed at least 20 passes in an NFL-record 26 consecutive games. He’s Hot even though his team lost on Sunday.

Tom Brady – New England Patriots – Brady had 289 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on Sunday and now has an NFL-best 2,163 yards on the season. His 16 TDs rank second. Brady has thrown a touchdown pass in 22 straight games and now has 31 consecutive regular-season wins at home. His Hotness ensures that his team is NEVER out of a game as demonstrated on Sunday.

RBs

Fred Jackson – Buffalo Bills – the only thing that can cool Jackson down is his Week 7 bye. He leads the NFL with 601 yards rushing and is among the league leaders in receiving as well. He has scored at least once in every game except in Week 1 and remains firmly planted on the Hot list.

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – Yikes – another Hot player that is on a bye this week. Gore amassed 141 yards on just 15 carries on Sunday – his third 100+ yard performance in a row. He has rushed for 393 yards this month – second-most in the NFL. HOT!

WRs

Jimmy Graham – New Orleans Saints – Graham has 100 or more yards in four straight games and leads all tight ends with 620 yards – 206 more than the next-best player, Dallas’ Jason Witten. He’s the hottest receiver in the game right now and he’s a Tight End!

Wes Welker – New England Patriots – The bye comes at a brutal time for the scorching Welker. He has 51 catches 785 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns on the season and has at least 5 catches in every game this season. Insane!

Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs – Bowe had seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Colts before his bye – don’t forget about him! Bowe has three 100-yard games in his last four and has four touchdowns in the last three games. Hot!

Not Hot

QBs

Rex Grossman – Washington Redskins – Grossman was horrid in Week 6 and it may have cost him his job. Grossman went 9 for 22 for 143 yards, ZERO touchdowns and 4 interceptions against a vulnerable Eagles defense – surely worthy of the Not Hot list.

Donovan McNabb – Minnesota Vikings – McNabb has officially been benched in favour of Christian Ponder. McNabb likely won’t get a chance to heat up any time soon! [ad-8469823]

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Ryan followed up a 156 yard passing effort in Week 5 with just 163 yards in Week 6. If you are depending on Ryan in your Fantasy league, I am truly sorry!

RBs

Peyton Hillis – Cleveland Browns – Hillis has been ineffective so far this season and hasn’t gone over 46 yards rushing since Week 2. Now comes word of a hamstring injury. With Montario Hardesty coming on and Hillis not, it is likely that Peyton will remain on the Not Hot list for some time!

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – Williams rushed for 44 yards on 12 carries in Week 6 and faces a stout Washington defense in Week 7. He is not running with any sort of enthusiasm right now and has lost all goal line work to Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton.

James Starks/Ryan Grant – Green Bay Packers – The Packers are a passing team, plain and simple!

Cedric Benson – Cincinnati Bengals – Benson is finally going to have to serve his reduced suspension in Week 7 and it couldn’t come at a better time. He has a combined 110 yards rushing in his last two games with one score. A 55 yard average for a lead back certainly is Not Hot!

WRs

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – White has averaged just 35.5 yards receiving in his last two games – all without Julio Jones on the lineup. I can’t quite explain what is wrong but I do know that White is Not Hot!

Santana Moss – Washington Redskins – Moss is in a cooling trend for sure. With John Beck almost sure to take the reins at quarterback for Washington, it is unknown whether or not his slump will continue. Moss has averaged 3.5 catches and 38.5 yards receiving in his last two games – brutal!

Chad Ochocinco – New England Patriots – I love beating up on this guy! Ocho has just nine catches for 136 yards on the season and is coming off a goose egg against Dallas. Thankfully the bye can’t cool him off any more than he already is!

Plaxico Burress – NY Jets – Plaxico Burress – He has just 14 catches on 37 targets this season, a meager 37.8 percent catch rate. His 218 yards and two touchdowns in six games, including 1 catch for 16 yards last week makes Burress worthy of this week`s Not Hot list.
