HOT + NOT For Week 4 Fantasy Football

Looking for Internet Fantasy Predictions then look no further than our Dave B our fantasy expert weighing in on weekly fantasy football topics for Week 4 action…

HOT AND NOT WEEK 4

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our waiver wire column, studs and duds, a who’s hot, and who’s not report plus more in our fantasy football guide.

Week 4 is upon us and byes have started to come into play. There are definitely some Hot players that are either living up to expectation and some that are exceeding them. Unfortunately, there are a share of players whose performance so far this season can be described as underwhelming to say the least.

Enjoy Dave B’s Week 3 edition of the Hot and Not list and by all means, leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Hot

QBs

Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – Manning has thrown three touchdowns in each of his first three games and has passed for over 1000 yards already. Jacksonville and Kansas City are on tap – cha chin!

Michael Vick – Philadelphia Eagles – The Eagles scored four touchdowns on Sunday – Vick passed for three and ran for one. In just over two games, Vick has seven combined touchdowns, good yardage numbers and zero interceptions.

Kyle Orton – Denver Broncos – Orton is shockingly second in the NFL in passing! Really! He is averaging 359 yards per game and is making an OK group of receivers look like all-stars.

RBs

Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings – He heads into his bye week absolutely on fire. 160 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday plus a few receptions every game has AP as one of the top Fantasy producers this season. He’s not fumbling either!

Darren McFadden – Oakland Raiders – Michael Bush returned from injury on Sunday and his measly three touches is proof of McFadden’s heat. He gained another 105 yards and a touchdown on Sunday and remains scorching.

Rashard Mendenhall – Pittsburgh Steelers – He has been getting it done for the Steelers – allowing them to grind out games and getting the necessary scores to secure victory. Mendenhall is a player and is certainly Hot right now.

WRs

Antonio Gates – San Diego Chargers – Gates has four touchdowns so far this season and 17 catches. He is clearly San Diego’s #1 passing threat and the top Red Zone target in the NFL.

Austin Collie – Indianapolis Colts – Collie had a down game last week despite scoring a touchdown. In the other two games, he has 23 receptions, 234 yards and three touchdowns. He is surprisingly the best receiver in Indianapolis and that’s saying something!

Santana Moss – Washington Redskins – Ya, I said it! Santana Moss is Hot. 22 catches so far this season and a 95+ yards per game average forced me to put him on the list. Donovan McNabb must be magic!

Not Hot

QBs

Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings – Favre has averaged less that 200 yards passing in his three games so far, has just two touchdowns and six interceptions. Those of you banking on Favre for your Fantasy squads are suffering for sure!

Carson Palmer – Cincinnati Bengals – After a strong Week 1, Palmer has slipped back into NOT HOT territory. In his last two games, Palmer has not reached 200 yards passing and has one touchdown, two interceptions combined.

RBs

Shonne Greene – NY Jets – Greene has yet to see the end zone so far this season and is getting out-touched and out-gained by LaDainian Tomlinson who appears to give the Jets a better chance to win.

Tim Hightower – Arizona Cardinals – Hightower did the most that he could do when Beanie Wells was injured. However with Wells healthy, the Cards limited Hightower’s touches out of the backfield. That trend should continue with Wells becoming a bigger part of the offense and Hightower becoming a smaller one.

Jahvid Best – Detroit Lions – Turf Toe! Yup, it is a real ailment! Best’s injury history has resurfaced with his latest injury. It may keep him out this week – at very least he’d be limited. After a brutal week like he had last week, it may be a good thing.

WRs

Steve Smith – Carolina Panthers – Poor Steve – he didn’t register a catch until midway through the fourth quarter on Sunday. Jimmy Claussen wasn’t even looking his way resulting in a 3 catch 22 yards afternoon

TJ Houshmanzadeh – Baltimore Ravens – TJ whined his way out of Seattle because he wanted to be the man. So far this season, he has a combined two catches for 31 yards!
