Hot and Not – Week 11

If you are in need of a HOT fantasy football player these Top Hot players for the week should help you out if they’re in your lineup. They may also be free agents on your waiver wire.

If you need to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS should be them. Throw em in the trash if you can afford to not have them on your bench. Fantasy Football always favors the prepared mind.

The more research you do, and the more HOT players you have to choose from on your team, the better your odds are of winning your fantasy football league outright this year.

It is time again for Dave B’s Hot and Not list. Believe it or not, it was difficult to find Not Hot Players this week – the usual suspect played quite well in Week 10. It is refreshing to see so many Hot players – I just wish that they were on my Fantasy team!

Without further adieu, here is the Week 11 edition of the Hot and Not list!

Hot

QBs

Michael Vick – Philadelphia Eagles – Mike Vick has taken the league by storm again. He accounted for six touchdowns on Monday night (4 passing and 2 rushing) and on the season, in 6 games he has a QB rating of 115.1, 1350 yards and 11 touchdowns passing. He has also added 341 yards and 4 touchdowns rushing. He is as Hot as they come!

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – Matt Ryan is graduating to elite QB status before our very eyes. On Thursday night, Ryan had 316 yards passing and three touchdowns. In his last four games, Ryan has averaged 275 yards passing and has tossed 9 touchdowns. He is especially HOT at home!

David Gerrard – Jacksonville Jaguars – Gerrard passed for 342 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10. In his previous game, Gerrard passed for 260 yards and four touchdowns! In his last four games, he has tossed nine touchdowns and only two interceptions – HOT!

RBs

Maurice Jones-Drew – Jacksonville Jaguars – MJD has been over 100 yards in each of his last two games and has scored two touchdowns over that span. He has also caught two passes in each of the last two games – all four for first downs! The Jags are Hot and so is Jones-Drew.

Frank Gore – San Francisco 49ers – The only time that Gore has been less than 100 yards rushing in his last four games was Week 10. In that game he rushed for 87 yards and a score while adding 67 yards receiving. He is a big reason why the 49ers are playing much better of late.

Steven Jackson – St. Louis Rams – Jackson has combined for over 100 yards in three of the last four games. He is the quintessential workhorse, getting 25-30 touches per game. He’s still healthy! And that makes him Hot!

WRs

Roddy White – Atlanta Falcons – White was an absolute beast on Thursday night catching 12 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. In his last four games, White has averaged 117 yards, and has scored four touchdowns. Week 9 was a poorish outing but this Hot player deserves a mulligan.

Calvin Johnson – Detroit Lions – Johnson was shut down by Revis in Week 9 but bounced back with 10 catches for 128 yards in Week 10. In his last four games, Johnson is averaging 97 yards per game. He has scored five TDs in his last four as well.

Mike Wallace – Pittsburgh Steelers – Wallace has taken advantage of the return of Ben Roethlisberger and the ineffective play of Hines Ward. He has averaged 123 yards receiving in his last two games and has scored three touchdowns. As Big Ben’s favourite target, Wallace is Hot!

Andre Johnson – Houston Texans – Johnson had a poor Week 9 but bounced back in a big way in Week 10 with 9 catches 146 yards and a touchdown. In his last four games, AJ is averaging 107.8 yards receiving per game and has scored three times.

Brandon Lloyd – Denver Broncos – Lloyd has caught 13 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games. Lloyd has been Hot all season – no reason to think that it will change anytime soon.

Not Hot

QBs

Brett Favre – Minnesota Vikings – We saw a glimpse of Good Favre in Week 9 but the Bad Favre re-emerged in Week 10. 170 yards passing, one touchdown and three interceptions in Week 10 has Favre back in familiar territory – on the NOT HOT list.

Vince Young – Tennessee Titans – Will he or won’t he play? That is the reason that he is on the NOT HOT list. Right now, Young in very undependable and injury prone. It is a colossal disappointment that a team that is in the thick of a playoff race can’t depend on their starting quarterback!

RBs

Thomas Jones – Kansas City Chiefs – Jones’s recent play has left the Fantasy world scratching their heads. In his last two games, Jones has a combined 23 rushes for 35 yards! What the hell happened?

Marshawn Lynch – Seattle Seahawks – Lynch has not had a good game since Week 7 and is now losing touches to the far more effective Justin Forsett. In his last three games, Lynch has rushed the ball 33 times and has gained only 84 yards combined!

Jahvid Best – Detroit Lions – Jahvid Bust seems more appropriate. His best game in the last four is a 48 yard outing against the Redskins. In his last four games, Best is averaging just 36.8 yards on the ground and is one player that is certainly NOT HOT!

WRs

Brandon Marshall – Miami Dolphins – Marshall has been awful lately with his best game in the last four being a 5 catch 64 yards effort against Cincinnati. In the last four games, Marshall is averaging 46.3 yards per game with ZERO touchdowns.

Hines Ward – Pittsburgh Steelers – Ward was shut out in Week 10 after leaving early with a concussion. In the two weeks prior, Ward had a combined six catches for 25 whopping yards. That, my friends is NOT HOT!

Randy Moss – Tennessee Titans – Moss has officially fallen off the Fantasy radar with his NOT HOT play. In his last two games (two different clubs), he has a combined two catches for 34 yards – BRUTAL!
