FANTASY GURUS – READY TO BET ON NFL WEEK 14? WE’VE GOT YOUR PICKS —–>

Week 14 is almost here – playoff time for all of you Fantasy Football freaks! There are some interesting matchups this week, some Studs that could have a difficult time generating points and some unheralded stars that could help you to the next round of your Fantasy playoffs.

Below is a breakdown of every game this week and who should start for your Fantasy squad. Keep the questions coming! I promise that I will get to each and every one of them!

Indianapolis at Tennessee 8:20 PM

I really have a feeling about the Indianapolis Colts this week – It’s not like the passing game hasn’t been Fantasy Gold anyway. Manning, Wayne, Garcon and Tamme are automatic starts this week and Blair White could be a sneaky flex. STAY AWAY from the running game. For Tennessee, the only player that I trust is Chris Johnson. You have to start him against the Colts brutal run defense.

Cleveland at Buffalo 1:00 PM

For Buffalo, Peyton Hillis and Ben Watson are great plays this week – that’s about it! I have faith for some reason that Ryan Fitzpatrick will bounce back and that Steve Johnson will have a good game as well. Lee Evans and Fred Jackson are simply risky flex plays this week.

Green Bay at Detroit 1:00 PM

Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings are no-brainers as always. Donald Driver has re-emerged and is worth a start as well. James Starks will start at running back for the Packers and if you are absolutely stuck, consider him as a low-end flex. Green Bay’s defense is also a fine play. For Detroit, the team has taken a step backward in Fantasy circles. Start Calvin Johnson but sit the rest.

NY Giants at Minnesota 1:00 PM

The running game took center stage and although I don’t think they will have the same success this week, both Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs are decent flex players this week. As for the receiver, no one is a sure fire starter but Mario Manningham has to be better than last week, and Derek Hagan could be a sneaky sleeper this week. Kevin Boss is an OK start and the Giants defense is automatic. For the Vikings, it is unsure who will start at quarterback – best to avoid the situation. Adrian Peterson is a good play, Sidney Rice is a good WR3 this week and Visanthe Shiancoe may be worth a look as well.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 1:00 PM

Cincinnati is a mess but you will probably still have to roll with Ochocinco and Terrell Owens. They are worth a start – just hope for the best! Jordan Shipley has impressed me and could be just OK in this game. I love what Big Ben did last week and is worth a start based on his studliness alone. Rashard Mendenhall should have a good game as well, along with Mike Wallace. I don’t really trust Hines Ward but he could be an OK flex. The Pittsburgh defense is going to be masterful this week.

Tampa Bay at Washington 1:00 PM

Tampa Bay should have their way with Washington but they are void of offensive Studs. I would sit Josh Freeman but start Mike Williams for sure. LaGarrette Blount will be no slouch either. For Washington, there is not a whole lot to like right now. Chris Cooley is the only player I trust but in an absolute pinch, I might consider Santana Moss. Donovan McNabb should get his yards, but touchdowns may be hard to come by against a good tome team – Tampa.

Atlanta at Carolina 1:00 PM

Matt Ryan, Michael Turner and Roddy White are great starts this week as is Tony Gonzalez. Michael Jenkins and Harry Douglas seem to cancel each other out, so look elsewhere if possible. Jonathan Stewart is the only Panther I would consider – at flex only.

Oakland at Jacksonville 1:00 PM

The running backs in this game are good as gold. Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew have to be in your lineups. Michael Bush could also be a sneaky flex in deeper leagues. The passing game won’t offer much Jacoby Ford is the only Raider that I would even consider and for Jacksonville, Mike Thomas is a WR 3 or WR4 while Marcedes Lewis is a good start.

St. Louis at New Orleans 4:05 PM

Use Sam Bradford if you have to –  he will provide OK not outstanding numbers. Steven Jackson is a weekly play and Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson are flex plays in PPR leagues only. The New Orleans offense is heating up meaning that Drew Brees, Marques Colston are gold and Lance Moore and Devery Henderson are good flex plays this week. Start Chris Ivory as well. Jimmy Graham looks like a solid Tight End play as well.

Seattle at San Francisco 4:05 PM

If you are starting any Seahawks on the road in the Fantasy playoffs, I’m sorry. They all remain on my bench. For the 49ers, Michael Crabtree should be productive this week as should Vernon Davis. Stay away from the rest of these rosters.

New England at Chicago 4:15 PM

You simply can’t bench Tom Brady – period! Deion Branch and Wes Welker should also have good games. Benjarvus Green-Ellis will likely score again so use him as a flex with confidence but be wary of the Tight Ends in this game. Brian Urlacher is a beast and will be marking Gradkowski or Hernandez. For Chicago, I still don’t really trust Jay Cutler but I wouldn’t hesitate to use Johnny Knox or Earl Bennett this week. Greg Olsen should be OK too. You will likely have to start the Bears defense but temper your expectations.

Miami at NY Jets 4:15 PM

Starting any Fin against the pissed off Jets is risky but if I had to choose one player, it would be Davone Bess. For the Jets, Mark Sanchez should be an OK start and LaDainian Tomlinson should be just OK too. Santonio Holmes and Dustin Keller are Green Lights as is the Jets defense this week.

Denver at Arizona 4:15 PM

Kyle Orton has been ordinary the last few weeks but his potential is hard to bench. I would start with caution. Knowshon Moreno has been very good lately and definitely deserves a start along with Brandon Lloyd. For Arizona, Tim Hightower looks like the man there and should be decent against the brutal Denver run defense. He is a start with caution this week. I would honestly love to recommend Larry Fitzgerald this week but with John Skelton starting at quarterback, Fitz. is a sit this week.

Kansas City at San Diego 4:15 PM

Matt Cassel went from automatic start to bench in the span of a week. Dwayne Bowe’s numbers last week were also very troubling – you will still have to start him! Jamaal Charles is matchup proof and is unbenchable and Tony Moeaki has become a reliable Tight End starter. For San Diego, expect a bounce back game from Phil Rivers, Mike Tolbert, Antonio Gates and Malcolm Floyd. They should all be good to go this week.

Philadelphia at Dallas 8:20 PM

Vick is automatic and so is DeSean Jackson against Dallas. LeSean McCoy is also a good option as is Jeremy Maclin. This should be a high scoring game so even Jason Avant could be considered a flex in deeper leagues. For Dallas Jon Kitna will be throwing so don’t be embarrassed to start him. Miles Austin and Jason Whitten are also good starts. As for the running game, temper your expectations but choose Tashard Choice over Felix Jones – he has a better chance to score!

Baltimore at Houston 8:30 PM

Shootout alert! Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin will be huge in this game and Derrick Mason is a nice WR3 with Todd Heap out of the lineup. The Baltimore defense has to be started and should give up some yards but generate some turnovers as well. For Houston Arian Foster is unbenchable as is Andre Johnson. The rest of the Texans are too inconsistent for me to recommend right now.

Good Luck and may the Fantasy Gods be with you!

I need help!!! Have to start 3 between Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Santana Moss, Sidney Rice, Malcolm Floyd… Oh I have Randy Moss too, but I dont think I should start him. Any advice??

Hi Sarah,

Pretty nice problem to have! I would definitely roll with the two Patriot WRs this week nd Sidney Rice – with Percey Harvin experiencing migraines again, Rice will be the go-to guy.

Dave B

Who do I start pick 3 legarrete blount, miles Austin, crabtree, mike Williams tb, Brandon Lloyd ?

Dustin,

You have to roll with Blount against a brutal Washington D. Miles Austin is automatic to me, especially with Dez Bryant being out and my third coice would be Lloyd, hand down. Williams is banged up and crabtree has alex smith throwing the ball to him again – yikes!

Dave B

Gandalfthecat,

Interesting dilemma,

I would be inclined to go Jackson in this case. I think DeSean is good for at least one huge play in what is sure to be a shootout in Dallas. Welker is good for 80 yards and a touchdown while I think that Jackson will certainly go over 100 yards and a score.

Either way, you should be fine but if it were me, I would choose the big play potential.

Dave B

Brandon Jacobs, Starks , LT, goodson or Best?? I gotta start two of them this week.. Which two should I pick?

Ugh Joey,

From that list, I would go LT and Jacobs. Goodsen will play second fiddle to Jonathan Stewart, Best has been a bust and I have no idea what to expect from Starks. At least with LT and Jacobs, you know what you are going to get – a minimum of 60 yards and a good chance at a score.

Dave B

Mike R,

My pick here would be Driver. I am not in love with the pick but I certainly think that he gives you the best chance to score, With Steve Smith and maybe even Hakeem Nicks returning for the Giants this week, Manningham slips WAY down the pecking order. Jacobs is sliding back to the “change of pace back” with Bradshaw getting the majority of the touches.

Go with the safe play – Driver is good for 5 catches, at least 65 yards and a score this weekend.
