Pre-season is nearly upon us, so for the next few weeks we encourage you to be checking out our fantasy football draft guide for all your rankings and analysis for the upcoming league drafts that your going to be participating in.

NFL betting players know the importance of being able to pick out underdogs in their offshore sportsbook, and it also takes a similar talent when picking sleepers for your fantasy league.

Here’s a look at the top 10 players that should offer great value in your pools for the upcoming season.

1. Anthony Gonzalez, Indianpolis

The third-year wideout has been overshadowed by Ted Ginn Jr. at Ohio State, and then again by Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne in Indy. With no Harrison, expect Gonzalez to pad his numbers as the No.2 receiver in the potent Colts’ offense.

2. Rashard Mendenhall, Pittsburgh

Mendenhall hurt his shoulder four games into his rookie year, but the Steelers would like to give him more carries to keep oft-injured Willie Parker off of the training report. If he plays even 75% of the way he played at Illinois, the Steelers will be a Super Bowl odds favorite to repeat.

3. Darren Sproles, San Diego

The transition begins: Sproles shows tons of potential late in the season when LaDainian Tomlinson was injured, impressing them so much that the Chargers placed their franchise tag on him. LT is still the man while he’s a Charger, but don’t be surprised if Sproles is getting just as many carries by midseason.

4. Trent Edwards, Buffalo

The Bills are giving Edwards what he needs to be successful, as Terrell Owens and Lee Evans are one of the top receiving duos in the league, while Marshawn Lynch will take some of the pressure off when he returns from suspension. This is his big chance, and the Bills could be a sports picks surprise in 2009.

5. Marion Barber, Dallas

The exit of Owens weakens the Cowboys’ receiving corps, which means they’ll have to use Barber more than they did down the stretch, when he had 13 carries over the last three games. Barber is an intriguing mix of speed and power who should be a perennial 1,000-yard rusher if used right.

6. Knowshon Moreno, Denver

Moreno has Rookie of the Year potential, having dominated at Georgia. The Broncos’ vaunted rushing attack has suffered some bumps recently, including an injury-plagued 2008. Kyle Orton is the team’s starting quarterback, which means Moreno should get a lot of work, even if betting software aren’t giving the Broncos a chance this year.

7. Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants

Talent-wise, Nicks is the most talented receiver on the Giants, and he’s erriely similar to Plaxico Burress, the man he was drafted to replace. Thing is, he may be even faster, giving Eli Manning a deep threat. It may take a couple games, but Nicks will be a monster, and we’ll see the beginning of that this year.

8. LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia

McCoy was a bruiser for Pitt in college, and the Eagles drafted him to keep Brian Westbrook healthy. He was an absolute steal in the second round of the draft, but coach Andy Reid’s love of the passing game could relegate him to little more than a blocking back.

9. Chris Cooley, Washington

When the game’s top tight ends are mentioned, Cooley doesn’t usually come up, which is why you should take him as soon as you can. Cooley was the fourth-leading tight end last year, providing a dependable target for Jason Campbell over the middle of the field.

10. Steve Breaston, Arizona

The Anquan Boldin saga threatens to put a cloud over the Cardinals, but if he leaves, Breaston has the talent to slot in, which is similar to Gonzalez’s situation in Indy. He had 1,006 yards last year, which means the Cardinals won’t fall that much in your offshore sportsbook if Boldin leaves.
