Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs
Play: 1 Unit Chicago Cubs -160

Chicago will try to right the ship on Monday after losing a home-opening series to the Bucs. Today they host the Arizona Diamondbacks, who were snowed out on Sunday in Colorado. Cubs RH Randy Wells (2010: 8-14, 4.26 ERA) vs. D-backs LH Joe Saunders (2010: 9-17, 4.47 ERA). I like the Cubbies on Monday as Wells has excelled against the D-backs, posting a 2-0 mark with a 3.46 ERA in his career. Saunders struggled this Spring allowing 24 earned runs in 17 1/3 innings, Gibson said Saturday he’s confident with Saunders on the mound. We’ll see. Trends I like for this one include, Cubs are 7-1 in their last 8 games vs. a left-handed starter, are 7-1 in their last 8 games vs. a left-handed starter. Cubs are 5-1 in their last 6 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. The Diamondbacks are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Chicago, and are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings.

Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles
Play: 1 Unit Baltimore Orioles -121

After finishing at the bottom of the AL East each of the last three seasons, the Baltimore Orioles find themselves in an unfamiliar position early in 2011. Young pitching has helped Baltimore to the top of the division and its first 3-0 start in 14 years, and the Orioles will look for that trend to continue when Jake Arrieta takes the mound in their home opener Monday against the Detroit Tigers. Baltimore is winning while just hitting just .222 as a team, the Orioles – off to their best start since 1997, when they last made the playoffs – have allowed a total of just 23 baserunners as their pitching has been great. Detroit’s Rick Porcello will take the mound Monday. He went 4-10 with a 5.91 ERA in his first 17 starts last season and spent some time with Triple-A Toledo. Look for the Orioles to stay undefeated and to win their home opener on Monday afternoon over the Tigers. – NBA Betting
