Both teams are considered in the upper echelon on CFL teams.

They are the first and second ranked offenses in the CFL and both possess good overall defenses – something has to give!

Montreal scores a league high average of 31.7 points per game and gain a league high 412.9 yards per game thanks largely to the play of Anthony Calvillo who has posted an incredible 106.2 Quarterback rating so far this season.

Calvillo has 14 touchdown passes versus just three interceptions so far. Jamel Richardson continues to be an uber-reliable target and SJ Green has emerged as a dangerous weapon as well. [ad-4437448]

Running back Brandon Whitaker has made Als fans forget all about Avon Coubourne with his solid play out of the backfield.

Defensively, Montreal has been decent. They gave up just four points in their last outing and give up a respectable 336.2 yards per game.

The Calgary Stampeders have won five of their last five games and like the Montreal Alouettes have demonstrated good balance on offense and defense so far this season. Calgary’s offense ranks right behind Montreal with 27.7 points per game and 376.9 yards per game.

Henry Burris has been a tad inconsistent this season but is coming off perhaps his best outing of the year – 298 yards and three touchdowns versus Saskatchewan last time out. Nik Lewis and Joffrey Reynolds continue to be incredible weapons for this team – top tier players at their respective positions.

CFL Betting Trends:

MONT are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Sat. games.
Over is 14-6-1 in CAL last 21 games overall.

Betting Prediction: The Montreal Alouettes have won three of the last four games against the Stamps and should be able to continue that trend.

Calgary gave up an astounding 543 yards of offense in their last game against Saskatchewan and as we all know, without a stout defense the chance of beating Anthony Calvillo is slim at best.

Pick: Montreal Alouettes +1
