Calgary has won two straight games SU while Saskatchewan has lost two straight games going into Friday’s clash.
The Calgary Stampeders rode a strong defensive effort last week to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The defense has been the story for the Stamps all season long – the offense has been just OK. The Riders on the other hand were lacking in all areas in their “Battle of the Basement” loss at BC last week. [ad-4437448]
Calgary’s predicted offensive potency has not materialized quite yet this season. Henry Burris has been holding his own but hasn’t shown the form that saw him win the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player last season. He still has weapons – Nik Lewis has been great this year and the running game has been decent as well.
The offense will come around for the Stamps for sure but until then, a solid defense is keeping the team afloat.
The Saskatchewan Rough Riders have been a disappointment plain and simple. Somehow they are last in the CFL in scoring with 112 points and are last in yards with a total of 1888. The offense is strangely stagnant and mistake prone – not a good sign going forward for this team. The defense has been nothing special either.

With no offense, the Riders will be no match for a Stampeders squad that is hitting its stride.
