We just didn’t know that it would be the BC Lions that would be in a desperate situation. The Lions hope to get their first win this Saturday when they travel to Edmonton where the Eskimos will hope to remain undefeated on the season.

The BC Lions are 0-2 which is a major shock to anyone involved with the team. Although it sounds bad, consider that the team has lost its two games against two CFL elite – the Alouettes and the Stampeders – by a total of six points! The offense seems to be holding its own and the defense is as advertised – very good!

BC has relied on Travis Lulay so far this season – they have had absolutely no running game at all. Travis Lulay is the top rusher on the team! The Lions have also been victim of numerous drops on catchable balls – sloppy play that will need to be cleaned up if the Lions are to be successful. [ad-4437448]

BC’s defense was dealt a major blow in Week 2 when Stanley Franks went down with what seemed to be an excruciating leg injury. He will be missed for sure on a unit that has largely carried the Lions so far.

The Edmonton Eskimos? 2-0? Leading the CFL’s Western Conference? It’s true! The Esks have beaten Saskatchewan and Hamilton so far this season to remain perfect and have done so thanks largely to a very familiar face – Ricky Ray.

Ray has taken his lumps in Edmonton but has always bounced back. Case in point – he is leading the CFL in Quarterback Rating – a staggering 134.4 after two weeks. This after a tumultuous 2010 campaign. He is at the top of his game at the moment and is making everyone around him look good – Fred Stamps had 178 yards receiving last week and unknown Canadian Jerome Messan rushed for 104 yards and a score. It appears; at first glance that Edmonton has all the pieces in place to at least be competitive this season.

CFL Betting Trends:

Over is 6-2 in BC last 8 games overall.
Under is 25-11-2 in BC last 38 Sat. games.
EDM are 9-25-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Betting Prediction:

The BC Lions could have won each game that they have played so far this season and are overdue for a win. They are 4-1 ATS in their last five trips to Edmonton and I like the trend to continue.

Take the surprising underdog in this one.

CFL Pick:

BC Lions +2.5
Week 3 Parlay with Montreal Alouettes -10.5

One reply on “BC Lions vs Edmonton Eskimos CFL Pick | Betting Preview”

with out a running game BC will be too predictable…..Edmonton showed it had a running game last week Edmonton is at home …..my heart says Lions but my brain says Eskimos will win at home and go 3-0.
