Bradford and McCoy Will Define Heisman Race This Weekend
The Red River Shootout is upon us and Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy will engage in what will prove to be a defining moment in college football betting futures. Max Hall and the favorite, Chase Daniel, remain in the hunt. But who’s creeping up on them?
Sam Bradford (QB) – Oklahoma Sooners
Bradford’s performances are becoming perpetually blisters for secondaries across the nation. The Heisman leader, in my opinion, bullied the Sooners to a rousing victory with 372 yards and three touchdowns to continue his pace as the Heisman trophy taker at the end of the season.
Next Game: Texas vs. Oklahoma -7
Colt McCoy (QB) – Texas Longhorns
McCoy has stayed the under the radar due to his own failings during betting seasons past. But now the Longhorns can put themselves on the map by overcoming the nation’s best. He’s more than capable of putting up 300-yards per game, but he had two picks against Colorado which is scary for anyone investing in him in our college football betting futures.
Next Game: Texas vs. Oklahoma -7
Javon Ringer (RB) – Michigan State Spartans
Ringer has been the storied underdog of this Heisman race, but the difficult for him is in the necessity of posting huge games every week. With 91 yards and no touchdowns against Iowa, Ringer has essentially thrown in the towel. The Spartans don’t have many high profile games left for Ringer to prove his stuff, so don’t lump your eggs in on this basket just yet. He’s a longshot…a very long shot.
Next Game: Michigan State -3 vs. Northwestern
Max Hall (QB) – BYU Cougars
With a solid 303-yard performance against Utah State, Max Hall continues to stay in the race. However, with the caliber of quarterbacks coming from big name programs, Hall has to be magnificent to retain any hopes of keeping pace. For now, he’s amongst the best in numbers. Since he’s at BUY, he’ll be the worst with opponents.
Next Game: New Mexico vs. BYU -9
Chase Daniel (QB) – Missouri Tigers
The odds on favorite to win is Chase Daniel. With 1,665 and a untapped rushing prowess, Daniel can be the next Tebow. He has the guts, despite being a tad bit too short. He’s also only notched one interception this season. Mistakes will cost guys games, and perhaps Daneil’s opponents their Heisman chances.
