East Region Breakdown: Final Four Future Odds
After the first weekend of NCAA Tournament Games we all were left wishing for the big upset and the east bracket was one of two brackets where all four of the top seeds have survived. No upsets teams does not mean average storylines. The sweet 16 games feature Pittsburgh verse there one time point guard Sean Miller now coaching Xavier.Also Duke and Villanova might be the best game of the sweet 16 round. Both Duke and Villanova are basically the same team basically playing with four guards and one big men. Lets breakdown the future odds to winning this bracket and earning a much coveted final 4 ticket.

Pittsburgh (+100): Definitely the best team in this bracket but not an unbeatable team by any means. In fact Villanova beat them in Philly early this year at the end of June. The good news for the Panthers is they should handle a much out manned Xavier team in the next game. The big trouble will be the winner of the Duke and Villanova game. Both are built similar with 4 guards and only one big man. Craig has picked Pittsburgh to win this bracket but at even money there is no value in playing this future wager.
Duke (+250): This blue devils team has great value but has a very tough road to make the final four. Maybe the toughest two teams from the #1 conference all year await in front of them. Villanova will be their sweet 16 opponent that is very similar to the Blue Devils. Playing in Boston will give neither team a home court advantage but most of the Pitt fans will most likely root for there conference team. Not sure Duke has an advantage over Villanova so even though the Duke’s have decent future odds value would not bet on this team.
Villanova (+275): With a January home win by 10 over Pittsburgh think this Nova team is one to reckon with. Duke usually wins with mismatches playing basically four guards and only one center. But Villanova plays the same lineup and even might have better talent at each position. Nova is only a +2 point underdog in this match up which shows you how much respect the odds makers are giving this very good Nova team. Craig definitely is loving the great value and obviously they have proven they can beat Pittsburgh if they get that far. In this East Region they are definitely the value future odds play.
Xavier (+800): Not sure if Xavier could beat Pittsburgh if they played them 10 times at home. To top it off they would have to come back and play another team that is much better than them also. Xavier was the weakest of the #4 seeds and have had a great season but they need a miracle to make the final four. If you like Xavier to beat Pitt you would be much advised to just play the money line at +250. Nice season Muskies but better luck next year.
Remember in picking the winner of the East Region you must examine the value in playing the future wager. Playing even money Pittsburgh might win but not sure even money is worth the risk.
