This week we focused our research efforts on teams that are coming off straight up losses as large favorites in their last game and what happens to them the following week. Here is what we uncovered for this week’s college football action.

System: Play AGAINST a team (not a favorite of 16+ points or underdog of 28+ points) off a SU loss as a favorite of 19+ points against a +.375% foe in its last game.

This week’s college football system actually has two qualifying games this week and we will take a look at both contests.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are on the road this week at the Baylor Bears and they have been installed as 12.5 point road favorites. Nebraska is coming off a very disappointing loss as a 20 point home favorite to the Iowa State Cyclones last week 9 to 7. That loss and the fact that Iowa State is a decent football team qualify Nebraska in this week’s college football system.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are playing host to the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday and the oddsmakers have made the Red Raiders a 7 point home favorite in today’s game. Texas Tech enters today’s contest off a huge loss to the Texas A&M Aggies last week losing 52 to 30 as a 22.5 point home favorite. The Red Raiders loss to Texas A&M qualifies them in our college football system for this week.

This system had only one occurrence last season (2008) it was active in the Arizona State @ Georgia matchup on September 20th. The Sun Devils hosted the UNLV Rebels the week prior to playing between the hedges and lost 23 to 20 as a 24 point home favorite. The following week they played against the Georgia Bulldogs and lost 27 to 10 as 7 point road underdogs.

It’s been anything but easy for these teams to bounce back after a huge upset loss in fact they are 6-15 SU even though the average line in these games had the qualifying teams favored by 3.6 points per game. Against the spread they have been perfect posting a record of 0-21 ATS and losing to the spread by an average of 12.8 points per game since 1988.

With all of the system parameters met this week’s Cajun Sports NCAA Football SYSTEM of the Week qualifies the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Texas Tech Red Raiders as our Play AGAINST teams of the Week.

Best of Luck
