Tennessee Titans Perfect Season Props

Sportsbook.com has posted odds on whether the Tennessee Titans can match the perfect 16-0 mark the New England Patriots set last season.

This enticing proposition bet has just been released and the Titans are 6:1 odds to run the regular season table. The odds that they can’t are 1:10.

Sportsbook.com is also offering odds on whether the winless Detroit Lions can be the first team to go 0-16. The expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 0-14 back in 1976.

The odds for Detroit to go winless are 12:5. The odds are 5:16 they get a win.

Finally, the odds that Tennessee goes undefeated and Detroit winless are 15:1. The odds that both won’t happen are 1:30.

Tennessee has a great factor in their favor as we head towards the final six games, a relatively easy schedule. They host the Jets this week as five-point favorites. After that, the next three opponents are Detroit, Cleveland and Houston where they will be solid favorites.

The media scrutiny will mount in late December if they are 14-0, but they won’t have it anywhere near as bad as the Patriots, who were also dealing with the ‘spygate’ drama with the media descending like a pack of vultures.

The Titans last two games are home to Pittsburgh and at division rival, Indianapolis. Those are two tough games, but both are winnable.

The biggest worry about this prop from a Tennessee perspective is quarterback Kerry Collins. Collins has been solid all year with just four interceptions and he is even being mentioned as a league MVP candidate.

Tennessee wins for the most part with a very good defense and running attack, but Collins may be asked to win a game solely on his arm if the running game gets bogged down. So far he’s been up to the challenge, but what if the ‘old’ Kerry Collins shows up, the one who has melted under the pressure many times in his 14 year career.

At the other end of the winning spectrum comes Detroit, who is on their third starting quarterback this year with Daunte Culpepper, who came out of his short ‘retirement’. The former All-Pro from the Minnesota Vikings hasn’t played bad considering he was watching the games from his couch just a few weeks ago.

Culpepper went 20-35 for 207 passing yards at Carolina last week, and they were only down two-points late in the 4th quarter despite being a two-touchdown underdog.

If Culpepper continues to progress and rookie running back Kevin Smith continues to shine, then the Lions will be in a lot of games the rest of the way, especially if their 31st ranked defense makes some improvement.

But while Detroit plays four of their final six games at home, all of those teams are .500 or better and each is fighting for a playoff spot.

Still, the odds suggest they will get a win somewhere along the way and avoid this shameful embarrassment that will follow them throughout history.

So head on over to the Sportsbook.com odds menu and let your voice be heard on the Lions, Titans and a full weekend of great NFL action.
