Minnesota Vikings 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Minnesota Vikings Predictions

The Minnesota Vikings struggled last season, but there were some bright spots. Teddy Bridgewater looks like he could be a starting QB in the NFL for years to come. Adrian Peterson is back too, which will take some pressure off Bridgewater.

Chicago Bears 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Chicago Bears Predictions

Things couldn’t go much worse for the Chicago Bears last season, as they only won five games. They dealt with a lot of injuries throughout the year, but you could tell last year’s Bears team was in rebuilding mode.

Detroit Lions 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Detroit Lions Predictions

The Detroit Lions are a team I expect to contend with the Packers, especially with the Packers injury concerns. The Lions were only one game back of the Packers last season, but most handicappers expect them to regress.

Green Bay Packers 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Green Bay Packers Predictions

In the NFC North, no team is expected to even compete with the Green Bay Packers. However, that may change, as Jordy Nelson may have torn his ACL, which would mean he’d be out for the season. When you consider Nelson had 98 receptions for 1519 yards and 13 TD’s – it’s easy to see how losing him is huge.

Washington Redskins 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Washington Redskins Predictions

Well, where do we start with the Washington Redskins? I can’t imagine the Redskins competing for the NFC East title. Washington has had a busy off-season and they made out well. The team will be much tougher in the trenches on both sides of the football in 2015, but will that be enough to catapult the Redskins into contention?

Philadelphia Eagles 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 Philadelphia Eagles Predictions

Honestly – who knows what to expect out of the Chip Kelly-led Philadelphia Eagles this year. The Eagles made wholesale changes to the team. Sam Bradford is the new starting QB, DeMarco Murray is the new RB in town and rookie WR Nelson Agholor is going to be expected to contribute immediately in 2015.

New York Giants 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 New York Giants Predictions

Hardly anyone is giving the New York Giants any respect in the NFC East in 2015, but I’m a believer.

This is going to be a different team than last year and that’s mainly because they’re healthy. If they can avoid the injury bug in 2015 – this team has the chance to surprise everyone and win the NFC East for the first time since 2011.

That was the year the Giants won the Super Bowl, but they haven’t made the NFL playoffs since.

New York Giants
2014 Record: 6-10
ATS: 7-9
Giants Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +400
Giants Odds to Win the NFC Conference: +1400
Giants Odds to Win the 2016 Super Bowl: +2800

The Giants had a quiet off-season for the most part. Antrel Rolle, J.D. Walton, Walter Thurmond, Mathias Kiwanuka, Stevie Brown and Zack Bowman are gone. Will Beatty has also been lost for the season due to an injury.

[dfads params=’groups=63753&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Shane Vereen, Dwayne Harris, Kenrick Ellis and George Selvie were all brought in. Ereck Flowers was drafted in the first round and will likely be expected to produce immediately now that Beatty has been lost for the year.

I love that they brought in Vereen, as he’ll be huge on 3rd downs this season.

Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams will ensure the Giants run attack is fierce in 2015. These three RB’s compliment each other well and although none present huge fantasy value, they’ll work great as a unit if they can remain healthy.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Eli Manning is still being ridiculed for his 2013 season, but he bounced back big last year. Manning actually had his best year in terms of completion percentage (63.1%) – he also threw for 4410 yards and 30 TD’s.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz are expected to be one of the best WR duos in the NFL. Cruz has to stay healthy, but if he can, he’s a problem in open field for defenses. Even with injuries last year – the Giants had a top ten offense.

Giants Betting Outlook

I have concerns about the defense, but at least the Giants are starting the year healthy on this side of the football. The problem is there isn’t a ton of talent, however, I love the fact the Giants brought back Steve Spagnuolo.

He’ll be able to take some of the young talent and teach them how to pressure opposing offenses.

The Giants will be relying on Jason Pierre-Paul to get pressure on QB’s, as the Giants pass rush is limited. JPP was hurt in the summer he had to have right finger amputated, so it’s unclear how JPP will perform this season.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

While the defense has some holes and question marks – the defense doesn’t have to be great. They just have to make enough stops while allowing the offense to do most of the damage.

This is going to be a top ten offense again and possibly even a top five offense is everyone stays healthy. The Giants have a run game and pass game, so defenses aren’t going to be able to sell-out at stopping one or the other.

I’m betting on the Giants to win the NFC East, but I don’t believe they’ll win the conference championship.

At +400, we’re getting great value on the Giants, as most bettors are wagering on the Cowboys or Eagles. Both of those teams have plenty of question marks and a talented team like the Giants will be in the hunt for the division crown.

Dallas Cowboys NFL Gambling Odds & 2015 Handicapping Preview

2015 Dallas Cowboys Predictions

The Dallas Cowboys went 12-4 last season and made it to the divisional round before losing to the Packers.

So, can the Cowboys repeat as NFC East champions in 2015? I doubt it. Dallas had the #1 run game in the NFL last year, but that won’t be the case again. DeMarco Murray is gone, while Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle are in at RB.

NBA Picks: Clippers vs. Spurs Gambling Lines & Preview Game 6

NBA Gambling: LAC vs San Antonio

The San Antonio Spurs (3-2) can close out the series at home tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers (2-3) – will they be up for the task? Visit Cappers Picks daily for our free NBA playoff picks.

Game 5 was tied heading into the 4th quarter and the Spurs outscored the Clippers (29-25) to win. The big story was the bench production that the Spurs got and the limited production the Clips got.

The Spurs bench scored 48 points, while the Clippers bench scored 17 points.

Blake Griffin led all scorers with 30 points in the last game, but it wasn’t enough for the Clips. Most of the starters played well for LAC, except for Matt Barnes who struggled through another poor outing.

Jamal Crawford had a terrible game too, as he went 4 of 15 from the field. If the Clippers want to win and force a game 7 back at home, they’ll need to get more production out of their bench players.

Griffin has to work on pounding the rock down low in the paint more too and score easier buckets. He may have just had 30 points, but he only shot 10 of 25 from the field, which isn’t that good.

DeAndre Jordan had a great game too, as he had 21 points and 14 rebounds. The Spurs showed off their depth in game 5. Tiago Splitter and Danny Green struggled in the game, but the bench didn’t.

Boris Diaw, Patty Mills and Manu Ginobli all scored in double digits. Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs with a double-double (21 points and 11 rebounds), while Kawhi Leonard had 18 points and 9 rebounds.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Clips have some hope, as they did win the last game in San Antonio, but it was close and they were also blown out in game 3 at the AT&T Center. The point spread is a little big though.

Chris Paul will step up tonight and provide the Clips with the spark they need to win. He had 19 points and 10 assists last game, but I expect him to take more shots tonight in a do or die situation.

Free NBA Picks: Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs

Los Angeles Clippers +5.5 (-110)

Two of the three Spurs wins have been by four points, so I don’t think the Spurs will be able to cover the point spread even if they win. The Clippers won’t hold anything back and the starters will get big minutes.

The one concern I have about the Clips is endurance. How much do the starters have left in the tank after playing such big minutes this series? That’s where the Spurs depth comes into play again.

However, I expect this series to go seven games and I’ll be betting on the Clips +5.5 tonight.

In what should be one of the best first round NBA playoff series – the (No. 3) Los Angeles Clippers take on the (No. 6) San Antonio Spurs. These two played each other in the 2012 NBA playoffs too.

Back in 2012, the Spurs won the series 4-0, but the Clippers are in better shape now.

NBA Basketball Odds

San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Series Odds: Spurs –175 vs. Clippers +155

Series Schedule

Game 1 – Sunday, April 19th 2015 at 10:30pm ET on TNT
Game 2 – Wednesday, April 22nd 2015 at 10:30pm ET on TNT
Game 3 – Friday, April 24th 2015 at 9:30pm ET on ESPN
Game 4 – Sunday, April 26th 2015 at 3:30pm ET on ABC
Game 5 – Tuesday, April 28th 2015 (Time: TBD)
Game 6 – Thursday, April 30th 2015 (Time: TBD)
Game 7 – Saturday, May 2nd 2015 (Time: TBD) on TNT

The San Antonio Spurs (55-27) will look to defend the NBA title, after defeating the Heat in 2014 (4-1).

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

SAS are heating up at the right time. They closed the regular season on a 9-1 run and the majority of the team are healthy. However, not having home court advantage will prove to be the downfall of the Spurs.

The Los Angeles Clippers (56-26) have won seven games in a row and nine of their last ten. The Clippers don’t have a single injury to worry about and they’ll be looking to improve upon last year’s finish.

LAC beat the Warriors in the first round (4-3) last season, but they lost to the Thunder (4-2) in round two.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Offense

We should see plenty of points in this series, as both teams rank in the top ten in scoring. The Clippers averaged 106.7 PPG (2nd) during the regular season, while the Spurs averaged 103.2 PPG (7th).

Both teams rank among the worst teams in offensive rebounding. The Spurs average 9.8 ORPG (27th) and the Clips average 9.6 ORPG (28th). I was surprised to see the Clips rank so low in this category.

These teams counter each other with a veteran PG. Tony Parker is healthy and playing better finally, but Chris Paul has the edge at PG. Both teams play team basketball and rank in the top five in assists.

Tiago Splitter and Matt Bonner are both banged up, which hurts the Spurs depth in the paint. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan have to dominate the paint and force the Spurs to beat them by shooting.

Offensively, the Clips have a considerable edge. The Clips even rank 3rd in 3-pointers made this season (10.1 3PM Per Game). Will the Spurs cover the perimeter and leave the paint open for Griffin to operate?

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Defense

The Spurs are the better defensive team, as they rank 3rd in points allowed (97.0 PPG), while the Clips rank 16th in points allowed (100.1 PPG). The Spurs are also a slightly better rebounding team.

If the Spurs big men can’t play to start the series, they’ll be in trouble. The Clippers have size and like to dominate the paint. However, Leonard and Danny Green are both great defenders at their position.

Both teams rank closely in steals and blocks. The Spurs average 8.0 SPG (11th) and 5.4 BPG (8th), while the Clippers average 7.8 SPG (13th) and 5.0 BPG (9th). At the end of the day – the Spurs are better on defense.

Series Prediction:

Bet on the Clippers to Win the Series (+155)

I’m surprised to see the Clippers as an underdog in this market. The Clips are the better team this season and I can’t pass up the value. The Spurs dynasty is slowly ending and this year will be a wake-up call.

I have the Clippers winning the series in six games against the Spurs.

Tim Duncan, Parker and Manu Ginobli won’t make it easy on the Clippers, but I’m confident the underdog will win this series. The Clippers will also have home court advantage in the series, which will help.
