Week four of the NFL season kicked off much the same as week three, with a blow out. The New York Giants trounced the Washington Redskins and it looks like I’m going to have to start including Thursday Night Football in this feature as it seems lopsided games are prevalent.
Week 4 of the NFL season features a match-up between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) at Heinz Field. Cappers Picks will provide free NFL picks all season.
The field of undefeated teams has been winnowed down to just three heading into week four: Philadelphia, Arizona and Cincinnati. None of these teams are considered among the elite but opinions might be changing about the likes of San Francisco and Green Bay after last weekend.
The third week of the NFL season was filled with plenty of drama, with many games going right down to the wire, and big ATS NFL handicapping money changing hands in the closing moments of games across the board.
Week 4 introduces bye weeks to the mix, making for one of the shorter boards of the season, meaning bettors will really need to be on point if they hope to pull one over on the books.

A 1-1 record on a parlay does you no good in this game as I went down in flames picking the UNDER in the Houston vs Giants game after cashing-in on New Orleans in the front end of last week’s two-team play.
That means it is back to the drawing board for Week 4 in the NFL to find another pair of matchups that are sure-fire winners based on betting odds from BetOnline.

Pointspread: Green Bay -1
Total Line: 50.5
There may be some concern in Green Bay over the team’s unexpected 1-2 start but do not tell that to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. His response to those concerns this week was to tell everyone to “relax”, which I completely agree with.

This offense is still built to put points on the board and it has a golden opportunity to prove my point this week against a Chicago defense that is ranked 23rd in the NFL in total yards allowed.
Despite some issues finding the end zone so far, the total has gone OVER in Green Bay’s last six games in Week 4 of the regular season.
There is no doubt that the Bears’ offense can find the end zone in a hurry. Jay Cutler led the team back from a 13-point hole against San Francisco in Week 2 with 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
This past Monday night against the Jets, Chicago rode a fast start out of the gate to its second-straight win of the year.
Cutler has thrown for 750 yards and eight touchdowns in his first three games. The total has gone OVER in seven of the Bears’ last eight games in Week 4 of the season and it is going OVER again this Sunday afternoon at Soldiers Field.

Pointspread: San Francisco -5.5
Total Line: 50.5
The Eagles have made an art out of digging themselves into an early hole only to climb out of it with a furious comeback to win their first three games.
In fact, they set a new NFL record with three-straight wins to start a season after falling behind by double-digits against Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Washington.
In the process Philadelphia has scored 101 points in those three wins. Nick Foles has proven that last year’s gaudy stats were not a fluke with 978 passing yards and six touchdowns and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin’s knee appears to be 100 percent with 16 receptions for 296 yards and three scores.
The 49ers have been the polar opposites in their stunning 1-2 start.
[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
They have built a comfortable lead in their first three games with a total of 59 points in the first half only to watch their last two games against Chicago and Arizona slip away with a dismal performance in the second half.
All told, San Francisco has scored a grand total of just three points in the second half this season.
I had this team taking a step backwards this season after three-straight runs to the NFC title game, but the Oddsmakers have given the 49ers the benefit of the doubt with a 5.5-point spread against a team that only gets better as the game wears on.
The Eagles plus the points is the biggest gift on the board and my back-end pick for this week’s two-team NFL parlay.

It is cut-down week for this year’s Chase to NASCAR’s 2014 Sprint Cup title as the field will be reduced from 16 drivers to 12 depending on the outcome of this Sunday’s AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway.
Week 4 of the NFL season will see a match-up between the Detroit Lions (2-1) and the New York Jets (1-2) at MetLife Stadium. Cappers Picks will provide free NFL picks all season.
